Late 3-pointer helps Spurs down Celtics
Manu Ginobili made a threepointer with five seconds remaining and the San Antonio Spurs overcame Kyrie Irving’s 36-point effort to beat Boston 105-102 on Friday night, snapping the visiting Celtics’ four-game winning streak.
Ginobili set up the winning basket by sneaking into the paint for an offensive rebound with 25 seconds remaining.
Irving had a chance to tie the score, but his three-point shot rattled in and out as the buzzer sounded.
Golden State 102, at Detroit 98: It wasn’t a perfect trip for the Warriors — not with Stephen Curry going down with an injury — but the Warriors made it through with an unblemished record. Kevin Durant scored 13 of his 36 points in the third quarter as the Warriors finished 6-0 on the trip. They’ve played the past two games without Curry, who is recovering from a sprained right ankle.
at Indiana 106, Cleveland 102: Two nights after beating the league’s worst team with a late three-pointer, Victor Oladipo did it again. The guard made another late threepointer as the Pacers snapped the Cavaliers’ 13-game winning streak. Oladipo finished with 33 points, eight rebounds and six threepointers.
Toronto 116, at Memphis 107: DeMar DeRozan scored 26 points and Serge Ibaka matched his season high with 21 for the Raptors, who won their fifth straight.
Chicago 119, at Charlotte 111 (OT):
Lauri Markkanen had 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulls, who snapped a 10-game losing streak in overtime. The back-and-forth game featured 17 lead changes and 20 ties.
at Milwaukee 109, Dallas 102: Giannis Antetokounmpo had 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Bucks, who erased an 11-point deficit late in the third quarter to pick up their fifth win in six games.
Denver 103, at Orlando 89: The Nuggets needed a spark after a 14point first quarter, and they got it from their bench. The Nuggets reserves outscored their counterparts 53-16.
Sacramento 116, at New Orleans
109 (OT): Zach Randolph made two of his career-high five threepointers in overtime and finished with 35 points for the Kings.
