Re “Trump calls for doover on memo,” Feb. 11

I can only guess that President Trump must fear some terrible truth coming out in the Democratic memo from the House Intelligence Committee regarding his campaign and the investigation of certain figures by the FBI.

So now we get to hear his lies, name calling and insults all cloaked under the guise of “protecting national security.” Trump continues to dishonor the presidency with his complete disregard for facts and truth.

The American people deserve a president who knows he represents the entire country and does so with integrity and introspection. Carol Karas

If Trump won’t release the Democratic memo responding to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (RTulare), then the Democrats should just publish it.

Don’t be afraid. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) had it right in calling out the president’s hypocrisy for green-lighting the Republican memo but not the Democratic one.

If you can’t get information out because of Trump’s dictatorial impulses, then just go past him and let him and his fellow Republicans throw a tantrum. Following protocol has been thrown out the window. Two can play that game. Patrick O’Brien

Re “Was he given short Schiff?” column, Feb. 10

Robin Abcarian tries to make a case that Trump’s reference to “Little Adam Schiff ” had to be interpreted as quantitative in nature.

The term “little” can be used to characterize someone qualitatively too. Let’s face it, Trump is a pretty good judge of character. He has run multiple successful companies and produced numerous professional shows and pageants where he assessed candidates’ talents and appearance. He knows people.

People in politics try to make names for themselves all the time. Schiff, the ranking Democratic on the House Intelligence Committee, is a prime example of somebody from a blue state who is trying to make a name for himself; it’s obvious. Trump sees it, and many readers likely do too. Stephen A. Bonick
