Memphis’ Martin out for season

Memphis point guard Jeremiah Martin has a broken left foot and the American Athletic Conference’s leading scorer will miss the rest of the season.

Martin was averaging 18.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and a league-best 2.3 steals. He was injured in Thursday’s 91-85 victory over No. 23 Houston, the third straight for the Tigers (17-11, 8-7 American).

Missouri star freshman Michael Porter Jr., sidelined by back surgery almost the entire season, has been cleared to practice . ... Miami guard Bruce Brown Jr., sidelined by foot surgery, will miss the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

Former New York Jets linebacker David Harris, second on the team’s career tackles list, has retired . ... The Green Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals each will receive four compensato­ry picks in April’s draft . ... The Jacksonvil­le Jaguars gave twoyear extensions to coach Doug Marrone, executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin and general manager Dave Caldwell. Their deals run through 2021. The Jaguars also released veteran running back Chris Ivory . ... Kris Richard, the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive coordinato­r the last three seasons, was named the Cowboys’ passing game coordinato­r/defensive backs coach. Tim Drevno is out as Michigan’s offensive coordinato­r/offensive line coach, and Ed Warinner is expected to join the staff, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired center Derick Brassard from the Ottawa Senators in a three-team deal that sent defenseman Ian Cole to Ottawa and forward Ryan Reaves to the Vegas Golden Knights . ... Forward Josh Bailey, selected to his first All-Star game last month, agreed to a six-year, $30-million deal to stay with the New York Islanders . ...
