Woods adds to his tournament schedule

Tiger Woods is adding another tournament to his schedule on his road to the Masters.

Woods decided to play in the Valspar Championsh­ip next week at Innisbrook, along with the Arnold Palmer Invitation­al at Bay Hill the following week. It was another strong signal about the health of his surgically fused lower back, giving him four tournament­s in five weeks.

Woods tweeted that he committed to play both tournament­s after a “good recovery week.”

Shubhankar Sharma wanted to enjoy himself in his first appearance at a World Golf Championsh­ip. Nothing was more fun than closing with three straight birdies for a five-under 66 and a two-shot lead in the Mexico Championsh­ip . ... Rafael Nadal, No. 2 on the ATP world rankings, has withdrawn from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells because of a hip injury, the same problem that led him to retire from his quarterfin­al match at the Australian Open.
