Exhibition games for Rams and Chargers set

The Rams’ first preseason game is Aug. 9 against the Ravens in Baltimore, the NFL announced. Their other exhibition­s are against the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints.

The Chargers’ four-game preseason schedule features a Philip Rivers-Drew Brees matchup in Week 3, traditiona­lly the game where starters play the most.

The team will open in Arizona before returning home to face Seattle. Then the Chargers host the Saints on Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. in a game televised by CBS before wrapping the preseason in San Francisco.

Michigan State says the woman accusing three former basketball players of a 2015 sexual assault was treated appropriat­ely by the school’s counseling center, and the school says it has found no evidence that she was discourage­d from making a Title IX complaint or a complaint to police.

The woman, who is a student at Michigan State, has filed a federal lawsuit accusing the school of failing to comply with Title IX. The suit alleges that the woman was sexually assaulted at an off-campus apartment, and it alleges that university counseling center staff made it clear to her that if she reported it to police “she faced an uphill battle that would create anxiety and unwanted media attention.”

Jalen Brunson, the Associated Press men’s college basketball player of the year, has declared for the NBA draft after winning two national titles at Villanova.

Quarterbac­k Brandon Dawkins has decided to play his final college season at Indiana. The former Oaks Christian High player will graduate from Arizona in May.

Tod Leiweke was introduced as the chief executive and president of the prospectiv­e NHL expansion franchise seeking to call Seattle home beginning with the 2020 season. The announceme­nt has been expected since Leiweke announced he was stepping down from his role with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks earlier this year. NHL Commission­er Gary Bettman said there is no set timeline for a decision on Seattle’s expansion bid.

The Buffalo Sabres signed twotime Notre Dame leading scorer Andrew Oglevie to a three-year entry level contract. Oglevie, from Fullerton, led the Irish with 15 goals.

NASCAR has suspended Hendrick Motorsport­s crew chief Alan Gustafson for two races after Chase Elliott’s car was found to have an illegal rear window during the Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty kick deep into injury time to send Real Madrid through to the Champions League semifinals for the eighth straight season despite a 3-1 home loss to Juventus in Madrid. The goal was enough to give the two-time defending champion a 4-3 aggregate win.
