Authoritie­s: confession in killing of skater Ten

Nuraly Kiyasov, one of two men detained in Kazakhstan on suspicion of killing Olympic figure skating medalist Denis Ten, confessed, authoritie­s said.

Ten, 25, was stabbed in a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty.

Rasmus Kupari, the Kings’ 2018 firstround draft pick, was lent to his Finnish team for next season, the team said.

The Los Angeles Football Club will meet the Houston Dynamo in the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup next month after the Portland Timbers withdrew their protest following LAFC’s 3-2 win in the tournament quarterfin­als. Portland claimed LAFC’s roster included an additional foreign player; LAFC said it was “compliant with U.S. Open Cup guidelines.”
