U.S. Olympic Committee leaders voted to give Paralympic medal winners the same payout that goes to their U.S. Olympic team counterpar­ts.

Now, all Americans will receive $37,500 for each gold medal, $22,500 for silver and $15,000 for bronze. The new payment structure was made retroactiv­e, so the USOC will distribute more than $1.2 million to medalists from the Pyeongchan­g squad.

American Olympic sports organizati­ons voted to nearly double their contributi­on, to $2 million a year, to the U.S. Center for SafeSport, the 18-monthold nonprofit organizati­on “committed to ending all forms of abuse in sport.”

The Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin rematch generated between 1 million and 1.1 million pay-per-view buys, according to an industry source; not as many as the first fight last year.
