What: Figure skaters from the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa will compete in men’s singles, women’s singles, pairs and ice dance. Where: Honda Center. When: Today: 12:30 p.m. — Ladies’ short program; 5:30 p.m. — Opening ceremony and men’s short program. Friday: 11:45 a.m. — Pairs short program; 3 p.m. — Rhythm dance; 7 p.m. — Ladies’ free skate. Saturday: 2 p.m. — Pairs free skate; 7 p.m. — Men’s free skate. Sunday: 1 p.m. — Free dance; 6 p.m. — Exhibition gala.

Facts: Olympic silver medalist Shoma Uno of Japan headlines the men’s field. Among the women, the favorites are defending champion Kaori Sakamoto, triple axel-capable Rika Kihira, and Mai Mihara, all of Japan. U.S. champion Alysa Liu, 13, is too young to compete; 2018 U.S. champion and Olympian Bradie Tennell leads the U.S. women, with Mariah Bell — who trains in Lakewood — and Ting Cui. In pairs, 2017 world champion and 2018 Olympic silver medalists Sui Wenjing and Han Cong are spectacula­r to watch. Americans Tarah Kayne and Danny O’Shea will try to defend their title. The ice dance event will be strong, led by world silver medalists and U.S. champions Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue, world bronze medalists Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje of Canada, and Canadians Piper Gillies and Paul Poirier. Americans Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker, third at the U.S. championsh­ips, will try to repeat as Four Continents champions.
