McCollum hurt in loss to Spurs

DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points and the San Antonio Spurs extended their winning streak to eight games with a 108-103 victory Saturday night over the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, who lost CJ McCollum to a left leg injury.

Damian Lillard scored 34 for Portland, which had won three in a row. McCollum exited under assistance with 7:03 left in the third quarter. He stayed on the court for a few minutes clutching his left leg in pain after tumbling out of bounds when his driving layup was blocked by Jakob Poeltl. The Trail Blazers said he’ll have an MRI on Sunday.

City 88: Stephen Curry scored 33 points to help the Warriors clinch a playoff berth despite played without Kevin Durant for a second straight game because of a sprained right ankle. Paul George had 29 points and 13 rebounds. Russell Westbrook scored just seven points on two-for-16 shooting.

at Denver 102, Indiana 100: Paul Millsap hit a left-handed layup with seven seconds left, Nikola Jokic scored 26 points before being ejected in the fourth quarter for arguing, and the Nuggets rallied from 18 down to reduce to one the magic number for clinching their first playoff spot since 2013.

(OT): Josh Jackson hit a tying three with two seconds left in overtime, the Pelicans were assessed a technical foul when they called a timeout they didn’t have, and Devin Booker (40 points, 13 assists) hit the free throw to give the Suns the lead for good. Elfrid Payton (16 points, 16 assists, 13 rebounds) had his fourth straight triple-double.

at Dallas 121, Cleveland 116: Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 22 points and the Mavericks ended a seven-game losing streak.

at Utah 114, Brooklyn 98: Donovan Mitchell scored 24 points, Rudy Gobert added 23 points and 17 rebounds, and the Jazz won their third straight.

at Boston 129, Atlanta 120: Kyrie Irving missed his second straight triple-double with 30 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, and the Celtics survived blowing a 25point, second-half lead.

at Washington 135, Memphis 128: Bradley Beal scored 40 points for the second straight night and made a career-high nine threes.
