Long Beach

Walk, bike, drive or skate to discover new street art during the fifth POW! WOW! Long Beach Internatio­nal Mural Festival. Artists will paint 20 murals, adding to the 75 painted in earlier years. On July 27, KCRW-FM (89.9) will end the fest with an outdoor dance party with local DJs, food, beer and wine at 3rd Street and the Promenade. Mural locations can be found online. Dress as your favorite character from “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” books at OzCon Internatio­nal, which has met for more than 50 years to celebrate author L. Watch 150 dragon boat teams drum, paddle and race across Marine Stadium at the Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival. The teams come from California, Pennsylvan­ia, China and beyond and will compete in nearly 50 races each day.
