SERIES The Zoo: San Diego This new documentar­y series takes viewers behind the scenes at the legendary San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park and San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservati­on Research, collective­ly home to more than 700 species and 6,500 animals. In the opener of the two-episode premiere, efforts of the California condor team to save that endangered species are documented. In the second hour the staff helps a Galápagos tortoise and introduces viewers to two giraffe calves who need to be hand-reared simultaneo­usly. 8 and 9 p.m. Animal Planet Wild Singapore In the new episode “Islands,” David Attenborou­gh continues his exploratio­n of the natural wonders of Singapore. 9 p.m. BBC America Restaurant: Impossible Chef Robert Irvine is in Nutter Fort, W.Va., where a single dad runs an Italian-American-barbecuefa­mily restaurant. In a second new episode, Irvine revisits the Trails Eatery, a family-owned San Diego cafe that he helped in 2011. 9 and 10 p.m. Food Network Black Love This unscripted series opens its third season with couples who identify the moment when their personal love stories began. Jason Momoa stars with Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and Patrick Wilson. 8 p.m. HBO V.C. Andrews’ Fallen Hearts Adapted from the third of five novels in V.C.
