NBC’s ‘Talent’ zips as Fox’s ‘90210’ dips

Viewership fell more than 30% from the premiere of Fox’s “BH90210” to its second episode, both among total viewers and the adults under 50 that the network targets and that advertiser­s covet, according to live-plussame-day figures released by Nielsen on Tuesday.

The reboot of the 19902000 Fox teen drama “Beverly Hills, 90210” averaged 2.52 million viewers to finish 62nd among prime-time broadcast and cable programs running from Aug. 12 to Sunday, a 34.3% drop from the premiere’s 3.84-million average, which was 12th for the previous week.

The series averaged 1.23 million viewers ages 18 to 49, ninth for the week among broadcast programs, 37.1% less than the 1.95-million for the premiere, first among broadcast programmin­g.

A 1-2 finish by “America’s Got Talent” led NBC to its eighth straight outright ratings with, with the Tuesday episode averaging 9.1 million viewers and the Wednesday episode 7.9 million. An “America’s Got Talent” episode has been the mostwatche­d program for seven of the last nine weeks, with Democratic presidenti­al debates interrupti­ng the streak both times. “” has been the most-watched entertainm­ent program each week that an original episode has aired at least since summer 2017.

NBC averaged 3.61 million viewers for the week. Its most-watched programs outside of “America’s Got Talent” ran back-to-back on Aug. 12: “American Ninja Warrior” was sixth for the week, averaging 4.76 million, and “Dateline NBC” was 16th, averaging 4.01 million.

CBS finished second for a second consecutiv­e week, averaging 3.43 million viewers. Each of the week’s three “Big Brother” episodes finished in the top 13.

CBS reruns accounted for each of the week’s six most-watched scripted programs, topped by “NCIS.”

ABC was third for a second straight week, averaging 2.9 million viewers. Its most-watched programs aired on Sunday: “Celebrity Family Feud,” fifth for the week, and “The $100,000 Pyramid,” eighth for the week.

Fox finished fourth for the 29th time in 31 weeks, averaging 2.39 million viewers.
