Dubois’ hat trick lifts the Blue Jackets late in overtime

Pierre-Luc Dubois got his third goal of the game 18:24 into overtime, finishing the Columbus Blue Jackets’ comeback from three goals down to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 on Thursday for a 2-1 lead in their qualifying series.

Dubois got the winner on a rush after teammate Alexandre Texier stripped the puck from John Tavares to end it in Toronto.

Dubois — who was in a shouting match on the bench with Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella in their Game 2 loss — started Columbus’ comeback on a goal with 8:21 left in the second. His score midway through the third completed a comeback from down 3-0.

Elvis Merzlikins stopped all 21 shots in relief of Joonas Korpisalo, who was removed after the first NHL goal by Toronto rookie Nick Robertson, from Pasadena.

Canucks 3, Wild 0: Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson each had a power-play goal and an assist, Jacob Markstrom made 27 saves for his first postseason shutout as Vancouver took a 2-1 lead in the qualifier series in Edmonton.

Flyers 3, Capitals 1: Scott Laughton had two goals and an assist as Philadelph­ia kept rolling in round-robin play in Toronto.

Travis Sanheim also scored for the Flyers, who have restarted the season 2-0 and will play Tampa Bay on Saturday for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Golden Knights 6, Blues 4: Mark Stone scored the go-ahead goal on a deflection and Alex Tuch and Shea Theodore each scored twice as Vegas took a big step toward clinching the top seed in the Western Conference.

Colton Parayko scored twice for defending champion St. Louis, which is 0-2 in seeding play.

Flames 4, Jets 0: Goalie Cam Talbot stopped all 31 shots he faced for Calgary.
