NBC’s Milbury apologizes

NBC Sports commentato­r Mike Milbury apologized for saying during a playoff broadcast that there weren’t women in the NHL bubble to disturb anyone’s concentrat­ion.

Responding to fellow commentato­r Brian Boucher’s observatio­n Thursday night praising the focus players have maintained, Milbury replied, “It’s the perfect place. Not even any woman here to distract you.”

The NHL responded to Milbury’s remark via social media, saying that it “condemns the insensitiv­e and insulting comment.” — Helene Elliott

The lawsuit by Vanessa Bryant over the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and eight others will remain in Los Angeles County after a judge rejected arguments by a defendant that a fair trial isn’t possible in the county because of the exLakers star’s popularity.
