Ravens’ game is moved to Tuesday

The NFL moved the Baltimore Ravens game against the Pittsburgh Steelers to Tuesday night following a COVID- 19 outbreak that has ravaged the Ravens.

The game was originally scheduled for Thanksgivi­ng night and postponed to Sunday before the NFL moved the game again Friday. The makeup for the makeup will be held at 5 p. m. PST and telecast nationally by NBC.

Baltimore’s game against Dallas, scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3, will instead be played Monday, Dec. 7.

Baltimore has more than a dozen players on the reserve/ COVID- 19 list, including MVP Lamar Jackson, and its training facility is closed. Jackson tested positive this week and will not play against the Steelers, who placed defensive end Stephon Tuitt, reserve defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs and backup offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins on the COVID- 19 list Friday.

Robert Griffin III was slated to start at quarterbac­k for the Ravens.

NFL teams were informed that all in- person activities would be prohibited Monday and Tuesday to try to curb a recent surge in COVID- 19 activity, according to the NFL Network. ... The Denver Broncos canceled practice after another player and two staff members tested positive for COVID- 19. ... Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Cory Littleton was set to play on Sunday after he missed two games with a positive coronaviru­s test. ... San Francisco 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel was cleared to return for Sunday after missing the last three games with a hamstring injury. ... Chicago Bears quarterbac­k Mitchell Trubisky will start against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night in place of injured Nick Foles. ... The Houston Texans released veteran wide receiver Kenny Stills.

Ohio State’s football game at Illinois on Saturday was canceled because the No. 3 Buckeyes had a spike of COVID- 19 cases this week. The cancellati­on came hours after the school announced coach Ryan Day had tested positive and would not be available to coach. ... Middle Tennessee canceled Saturday’s home football game against Florida Atlantic due to COVID- 19 cases, contact tracing and injuries inside the Blue Raiders. ... The Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, which matches teams from the Big Ten and Atlantic Coast Conference, will not be played because of the recent increase in coronaviru­s cases in the region. ... Arizona canceled its scheduled men’s basketball home game Sunday against Texas El Paso after a positive COVID- 19 test in the Miners’ program.
