Maryland topples No. 6 Wisconsin

Eric Ayala had 17 points and Aaron Wiggins added 15 points and nine rebounds as Maryland defeated No. 6 Wisconsin 70- 64 on Monday night in Madison, Wis.

The Terrapins ( 6- 3, 1- 2 Big Ten Conference) ended the Badgers’ 15- game home winning streak and a stretch of 10 consecutiv­e conference wins that dated back to last season.

D’Mitrik Trice led Wisconsin ( 8- 2, 2- 1) with 25 points, but the post tandem of Nate Reuvers and Micah Potter combined for just 12.

“Our zone pushed them out to the perimeter,” Ayala said. “I think it slowed them down a lot.”

Donta Scott added 12 points for Maryland.

at No. 1 Gonzaga 88, Northern Arizona 58: Joel Ayayi had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and the Bulldogs ( 8- 0) beat the Lumberjack­s ( 1- 6). Gonzaga has the nation’s longest home winning streak at 42 games. Star freshman guard Jalen Suggs did not play for the Bulldogs because of a right leg injury. at No. 21 Minnesota 81, No. 17 Michigan State 56: Liam Robbins had 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, leading a stif ling defensive effort by the Gophers ( 9- 1, 2- 1 Big Ten) in a win over the Spartans ( 6- 3, 0- 3). Michigan State was held to 25.7% shooting.

Florida forward Keyontae Johnson is back with the team and working as a coach in practice, coach Mike White said.
