Badgers bounce back from home loss

Bouncing back from a loss to unranked Maryland, Wisconsin’s Micah Potter had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 6 Wisconsin to a 71- 59 victory over No. 21 Minnesota that wasn’t as close as the f inal score indicated.

The Gophers ( 9- 2, 2- 2 Big Ten) scored a season- low 22 points in the f irst half with a brutal shooting performanc­e before the Badgers ( 9- 2, 3- 1) opened the second half on a 16- 5 run.

Potter added the exclamatio­n point with a dunk off a pick- and- roll from D’Mitrik Trice that put Wisconsin up 45- 27.

No. 16 Michigan 84, at Maryland 73: Freshman Hunter Dickinson had 26 points and 11 rebounds, Franz Wagner scored 19 and Michigan remained unbeaten. The Wolverines ( 8- 0, 3- 0 Big Ten) trailed 54- 50 with 15 minutes left before Dickinson scored nine points in a 23- 5 run that turned a close, contentiou­s contest into a runaway. Four technical fouls were called during a first half.

at No. 21 Oregon 82, California 69: Eugene Omoruyi continues to dominate for the Ducks, scoring 26 points and Oregon extended its winning streak at home to 27 games. It was the seventh straight overall victory for the Ducks ( 7- 1, 2- 0 Pac- 12), who led by as many as 12 points down the stretch. Oregon has won eight straight against the Golden Bears. Matt Bradley scored 21 points, including four threepoint­ers, for Cal ( 5- 5, 0- 3).

Arizona 80, at Washington 53: Bennedict Mathurin led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points off the bench, Jordan Brown added 12 points, and Arizona routed Washington. The Wildcats ( 8- 1, 2- 1 Pac- 12) led by as many as 30 in the closing seconds.
