Rams’ Staley meets with Chargers, Jets
Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley interviewed with the Chargers and New York Jets for their coaching jobs Sunday, a day after his defense led L. A. past Seattle in the playoffs.
“Sounded like it was an enjoyable visit with both groups and now I know his full focus and concentration is on the Packers,” Rams coach Sean McVay said, referring to the team’s next opponent. “But I think it’s a real credit. You know how highly I think of Brandon.”
Buffalo offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and Indianapolis defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus also interviewed with the Jets. Seven known candidates have spoken with the Jets, who f ired Adam Gase after two seasons. New York also interviewed Kansas City offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, former Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis, San Francisco defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and Carolina offensive coordinator Joe Brady. The Jets also are expected to interview New Orleans defensive backs coach Aaron Glenn.
