Reliever Báez will get two-year Astros deal

-

Pedro Báez, a mainstay in the Dodgers’ bullpen for the last seven seasons, agreed to a two-year contract with the Houston Astros pending a physical, a person with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday. The contract includes a club option for a third year and guarantees Báez $12.5 million.

Báez’s departure comes a week after the Dodgers resigned Blake Treinen to a two-year deal with a team option for 2023 that will pay him at least $17.5 million.

During the Dodgers’ World Series postseason run, Báez had a 3.52 ERA in eight outings and recorded two outs in the team’s title-clinching win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
