A $10-million sale for power pair

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis unload a traditional-style home that was originally priced at $14 million.

In the guard-gated enclave of Hidden Valley, actors Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have sold their East Coast-inspired home for $10.35 million.

That’s a hair more than the price they paid in 2014, when they bought the place from former Viacom Chief Executive Tom Freston for $10.215 million. Kutcher and Kunis had been shopping it around since 2020, originally asking $14 million.

They’re still staying in the Beverly Hills Post Office area. During the pandemic, the couple built a sustainable 6-acre compound called KuKu Farms, complete with a cornfield and barn.

The Hidden Valley home is a bit more traditional, spanning half an acre and centering on a two-story house built in 1999. Stone and shutters adorn the exterior, and inside, living spaces are dressed in oak floors and custom moldings.

In 7,351 square feet there are five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a cook’s kitchen, breakfast nook, formal dining room and mahogany office. The lower level adds a wine room, sauna and gym.

French doors and picture windows overlook the leafy backyard, where a covered patio descends via dual staircases to a lawn with a swimming pool and spa.

Kutcher starred in the sitcom “That ’70s Show” before appearing in the films “My Boss’s Daughter,” “The Butterfly Effect” and “Guess Who.” More recently, the 43year-old portrayed Steve Jobs in “Jobs.” He has also expanded his investments as a venture capitalist over the last half-decade.

A native of Ukraine, Kunis also starred in “That ’70s Show” before breakout roles in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Black Swan,” for which she won a Golden Globe. Her more recent credits include “Friends With Benefits,” “Ted” and “Oz the Great and Powerful.”

Drew Fenton and Justin Paul Huchel of Hilton & Hyland held the listing. Christopher Huddleston of Sher Group represented the buyer.

Power couple list pedigreed estate

After half a decade in Benedict Canyon, baseball star Justin Verlander and model Kate Upton are asking $11.75 million for their traditional-style estate. That’s more than double the $5.25 million they paid for it in 2016, records show.

The property comes with plenty of celebrity pedigree; Verlander and Upton bought it from film producer Jon Peters, who bought it from tennis star Pete Sampras in 2004. Before Sampras, it was owned by saxophone legend Kenny G.

Built in the 1970s but updated since, the compound occupies a sloping hillside lot of more than 1.5 acres. An L-shaped house and swimming pool sit at the top of the property, and down below, there’s a tennis court.

Inside, touches of marble, hardwood and stone break up the otherwise crisp white living spaces. Vaulted ceilings hang above the entertainment area, where a billiards room with a bar connects to a movie theater and wine cellar. Four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms complete the 5,521-squarefoot floor plan.

An eight-time all-star, Verlander has pitched for the Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros during a decorated career that has seen him win the American League most valuable player award once and the Cy Young Award twice. The 38year-old has tossed three nohitters and won a World Series title with the Astros in 2017.

Upton, 29, rose to fame as a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model and has also acted, appearing in the films “Tower Heist,” “The Other Woman” and “The Layover.”

Susan Smith of Hilton & Hyland holds the listing.

Grammy winner tries for two sales

Toni Braxton is tuning in to the Century City market. The Grammy-winning R&B star, who recently relocated to the East Coast, just listed two condos in the same building: one for $3.35 million and one for $2.85 million.

She bought both of them in 2018, records show. Located in the French-themed Le Parc complex overlooking Hillcrest Country Club, both units are 2,240 square feet.

The pricier one is a penthouse that comes with 14foot ceilings and a handful of custom finishes. Brazilian mahogany lines the floors, and the kitchen adds black polished granite. Elsewhere are two bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, three fireplaces and two balconies set among columns and custom moldings.

The lower-priced unit sits a floor below and offers a more modern style with hardwood floors covering clean, white common spaces. A highlight comes in the living room, which has a “Black Panther” comicthemed accent wall.

According to the listing, the units can be purchased together along with all designer furnishings. Building amenities include guardgated security, multiple swimming pools, spas, tennis courts, a gym and clubhouse.

One of the bestselling female R&B artists of all time, Braxton has sold more than 70 million records and won seven Grammy Awards. Her hits include “Breathe Again,” “You’re Makin’ Me High” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.” In 2020, she released her ninth studio album, titled “Spell My Name.”

Dee Crawford and Michael Lanier of Keller Williams Beverly Hills hold the listing.
