Rose stops victory drought

Justin Rose capped off a long week at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am with three quick birdies Monday to help give him a three-shot victory, his first win in four years.

Rose earned his 11th victory on the PGA Tour, a $1.62-million prize and an invitation to this year’s Masters. Rose has been eligible for every major dating to St. Andrews in 2010.

The tournament’s wind delays forced a Monday finish. Rose closed with a sixunder-par 66 at Pebble Beach. He led by two strokes through nine holes of the final round entering the day.

Rose finished at 18-under 269. The 42-year-old from England had not won since Torrey Pines in 2019. City 141-114 . ... Keegan Murray scored a career-high 30 points and hit eight threepoint­ers to help Sacramento win 140-120 at Houston.

The Minnesota Vikings hired Brian Flores as defensive coordinato­r. Flores was a senior defensive assistant and linebacker­s coach this season for Pittsburgh after three years as Miami’s coach . ... New Denver coach Sean Payton said Russell Wilson no longer will have his own entourage, including his personal quarterbac­k coach, at the team’s headquarte­rs . ...
