Rebecca’s Rockin’ Rebuilders are at it again!

- By Debbie Guadan

Realtor Rebecca Jepsen formed a team of incredible folks that got together last October for Rebuilding Together’s 2019 Build Day. Many of Rebecca’s friends, clients and community members came together to help Uplift Family Services in Los Gatos.

The team cleared nearly a half-acre of Scotch broom shrubs, built 55 feet of stairs, gutted two bathrooms, and planted citrus trees and lavender to beautify the

“Rebecca’s energy and commitment to her community is awe inspiring and infectious!

She volunteered to sponsor a Rebuilding project last year and with her incredible leadership skills and her professional track record, we just knew we needed her on our board,” says Cheryl Johnson, board chairman at Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley. “We are so happy she agreed and we are proud that she is once again stepping up this year to lead her incredible team of Rockin’ Rebuilders.”

Rebuilding Together is an incredible nonprofit organization that has been around for nearly 30 years. They help our most vulnerable neighbors — mostly elderly, disabled, low income — with necessary repairs and improvements that help them safely stay and age in their homes. To learn more, go to: http:// rebuildingtogether-sv.org.

They also, as with Rebecca’s Rockin’ Rebuilders, sometimes help out other fabulous nonprofits.

Uplift Family Services is a marvelous nonprofit that does MUCH-NEEDED work throughout the Bay Area with youths and teens recovering from mental health issues, abuse, addiction, etc. The nonprofit, https:// upliftfs.org/, helps more than 30,000 children and family members each year!

“We are so fortunate to have Rebecca Jepsen as such a strong supporter of Uplift,” says AJ Anderson, director of facilities and real estate at Uplift Family Services. “She and her Rockin’ Rebuilders made game-changing improvements to our Los Gatos Campus last year. We can’t wait to see the much-needed improvements they are going to make at our Gish Campus in San Jose this month!”

This year Rebecca and her team will be helping out at Uplift’s Gish Road Campus. At Gish they focus on children and youths from 8 to 17 years old who are dealing with autism, bipolar disorders, severe depression or have been physically or sexually abused. The team is going to build five outdoor therapy “rooms” so the therapists can continue to do their great work outdoors in safe, sociallydistanced spaces.

“I could REALLY use your help this year!” Rebecca says. “Due to COVID-19 we didn’t know if we were going to be able to do this year’s project — but we just got the green light.” The minimum requirement for sponsoring a nonprofit build day is $10,000. If you would like to volunteer on Oct. 17 or Oct. 24 and/or donate, please contact Rebecca as soon as possible. Please call her at (408) 357-3990 or email her at rjepsen@ggsir.com.
