A number of online events now available for older adults.
Bay Area Older Adults has some online presentations ready for the new year. First up is a Jan. 14 Lunch and Learn program, featuring a virtual hike of Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve, hosted in partnership with Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District.
This hike runs along rolling hills from Long Ridge to Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve on partly shady trails with views of the eastern foothills, past a chestnut farm and Christmas tree farm, then around Horseshoe Lake.
Along the way, participants will see wildlife, learn about the local chestnut farm and Skyline Ridge Christmas Tree Farm Restoration Project. The program runs noon-1 p.m. and will end with a question-and-answer session.

Health concerns will be addressed Jan. 28 during a presentation on “Essential Nutrients and Vitamins: How to Distinguish the Good from the Bad.”
More than 50% of adults in the United States take vitamin and mineral supplements, and most people take them without a doctor’s recommendation because they believe it will improve or maintain their health as they age. In this seminar, a scientist with a background in chemistry and enzymology will explain what nutrients and vitamins the human body needs to function properly and why, how this changes as we age and how to choose the best quality dietary supplements.
The seminar runs 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Register at https://www.bayareaolderadults.org/bao-lectures for the information needed to join the conference call.
