Town reports in
The Town of Los Gatos’ newest annual report — along with an archive of previous reports — is available online at www.losgatosca.gov/423/bout-town-manager. The report outlines what town officials accomplished in the 202021 fiscal year. It includes updates on infrastructure projects like the ones undertaken using Valley Transportation Authority grant funding, community engagement efforts like the regular town newsletter and an overview of pandemic response efforts, among other updates.
Apply now to serve town
Today is the last day to apply for a spot on a town board, commission or committee. There are open volunteer seats on 10 town bodies, including the Arts and Culture Commission, the Finance Commission, the Library Board and the Parks Commission. Applications are available online at www.losgatosca. gov/commissionapplication and open until 4 p.m.
Gateway artist gets go-ahead
Matt Babcock, the artist behind the Los Gatos Gateway sculpture at the intersection of Saratoga-los Gatos Road and Alberto Way, was unanimously approved by the Los Gatos Town Council last month to design and build future gateway art at entry points throughout the town. The sculptures are part of the Los Gatos Arts Commission’s ongoing effort to incorporate the town’s history and feel into its entry points.
Park it downtown
Los Gatos kicks off the holiday season at Town Park Plaza today, 5-7 p.m., with a ceremonial tree lighting at 6 p.m. The town is offering free photos with Santa Claus at the event. And attendees can stay jolly knowing they don’t have to worry about parking; valet parking downtown is now free every Friday and Saturday in Municipal Lot 4.
