Paul Mathias Christensen

Paul Christensen, beloved husband, father, gentleman, passed peacefully away April 7, 2022 in Los Gatos.

Born and raised in San Francisco to Danish immigrant parents Agnete and Fritz Christensen, Paul graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952 and served with the Marine Corps in Korea 1953-1955. Upon returning to San Francisco, he married his first wife and earned his business degree from San Francisco State University. Paul began his insurance career with Metropolitan Life in 1962.

Paul met Suzanne Allbaugh in San Francisco, and they married on November 17, 1966 in her hometown of Emmetsburg, Iowa. Paul joined Massachusetts Mutual in San Jose and in 1977 opened his office as Christensen Insurance Agency, Inc. in the Historic Park Vista Building at 2 N. Santa Cruz Ave.

Throughout his career, he achieved numerous sales awards and was known for his love of adventure, love of family and his faith. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Saratoga.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife Suzanne, daughters Nancy Christensen of Petaluma, Carin Fleming of Petaluma, Beth Anne Christensen of San Francisco, son Matt Christensen (and daughter-in-law Katherine) of Paris, sister Karen Rezendes of North Carolina, and grandchildren Justin of Petaluma, Kaïa, Neva and Vigo of Paris.
