Council to vote on project

Unified Developmen­t Code amendments also on Tuesday’s meeting agenda

Loveland’s City Council will have the opportunit­y Tuesday to donate land and lock in fees for the proposed St. Valentine Apartments project across the street from the Police and Cour ts Building.

Archdioces­an Housing, which is a ministry of Catholic Charities of Denver, and Blueline Developmen­t are asking the city to help of fset the cost of building the 54-unit suppor tive housing project at the corner where northbound Hayes Avenue cur ves west.

The developmen­t would serve people transition­ing out of homelessne­ss.

Archdioces­an Housing has said it would continue to manage the developmen­t once it’s up and running, coordinati­ng case management and other services for residents.

Council members will decide whether to donate the 4-acre plot of city land, which is vacant and valued at $425,000; officially designate the project as affordable housing, which would lock in 2020 building
