Masks, distancing aren’t expensive
Mr. Klassen, in his recent opinion piece, stated that physicians who are critical of the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic “do not understand where the money comes from to pay for their idealistic thoughts.”
I fail to see that wearing masks and social distancing — that President Trump fails to endorse — is an expensive utopian outlook. Thousands more lives will be lost if the public does not follow simple inexpensive public health measures to prevent spread of the virus. The simple act of wearing a mask will save thousands, if not billions, of dollars in health care costs and keep our economy running.
