The Larimer County treasurer has mailed property owners property tax statements for 2022, payable in 2023, or postcards with their property tax information.

Postcards are sent to property owners whose taxes have previously been paid through an escrow account by the mortgage company or properties that are tax-exempt.

In a news release, Larimer County Treasurer Irene Josey said the tax statements were mailed on Jan. 26.

A total of 160,898 tax statements have been mailed, including 155,931 real property, 2,927 personal property, 1,639 mobile homes and 138 stateassessed tax statements, the release stated.

Josey said payment of these taxes will produce over $704.9 million for taxing authorities throughout Larimer County, about $24 million more than last year.

Taxes are paid to the Treasurer’s Office, she said, then the treasurer distributes the funds to the taxing authorities associated with each property. Where the property is located determines which taxing authorities are owed taxes.

Two options for payment are available. Taxes can be paid in one installment by May 1, or in two installments with the first half due by Feb. 28 and the second due by June 15.

Owners can visit the treasurer’s website at larimer.gov/treasurer to pay taxes online, payments can be mailed to Larimer County Treasurer & Public Trustee, P.O. Box 2336, Fort Collins, CO 80522, or payments can be made in person at the 24-hour secure drop box located on the southwest corner of the Larimer County Courthouse offices at 200 W. Oak St. Fort Collins, or in treasurer’s office located on the second floor of that building between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. To ensure proper credit, people are asked to reference their schedule number on their checks.
