City Council, Centerra South

-

• I hope they publish where the recall petitions are being signed, the recall for Mayor Marsh. As soon as they put it in the paper, I will be the first one to sign up and sign my name to recall her. She’s a bad deal for Loveland. • Thank you, Mayor Marsh and the Loveland City Council, for rescinding Centerra South. • Personally, I applaud last (week’s) City Council action. Now Mcwhinney can come back with a straight-up development plan that doesn’t misuse the principles of the URA (and) doesn’t involve massive exemption from property taxes and from sales taxes. Growth and expansion should not principally reward the developer. It should expand the tax base for the whole community. • Congratulations, Loveland voters. You just voted in a dictatorship for our City Council. The hatred for the Mcwhinneys is well known by our mayor. If not for the Mcwhinneys, Loveland would still be stuck in the 1960s. • If Centerra South is such a great idea, why doesn’t the Mcwhinney Enterprises secure private loans and develop it without taxpayer subsidies? Because they have to pay loans back, unlike the $150 million in taxpayer subsidies. • I … am extremely thankful … that at long last a new City Council has finally pumped to brakes on a decades long policy of wholesale giveaway of tax revenue to subsidize and enrich a private entity. • It is a sad day for the residents of Loveland. … (The) Centerra South resolutions (has been) rescinded. What happened to a deal is a deal, to commitment and trust? Obviously the current City Council does not honor these words. Their actions will have a long serious economic impact on the future of Loveland.
