LOVELAND Nature Talk

Wildlife Window columnist Kevin Cook will present a nature talk at 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Loveland Public Library, 300 N. Adams Ave.

In 2024, Cook is focusing on “How Life Lives” with a program on the first Wednesday each month.

“Dry and Wet, Cold and Hot” is the theme for March, focusing on how Colorado’s geographic location and elevation difference diversify Colorado’s weather and consequent­ly what lives here.

Archaeolog­y Talk

The Loveland Archaeolog­ical Society will hear a presentati­on from Bob Madden, the group’s 2023 Dorothy Mountain scholarshi­p recipient from Colorado State University, on his master’s thesis work at the Flattop Butte Quarry when the group meets at 6:45-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Chilson Recreation Center, 700 E. Fourth St.

The quarry, located northwest of Sterling, is a rock outcrop that was used extensivel­y by prehistori­c peoples as a high quality source for tools.

The meeting is open to the general public. Admission is free and snacks are provided.

FORT COLLINS School Honor Choirs

Poudre School District elementary and middle school honor choirs will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia St.

This event is a showcase of choral talent featuring select fourth through eighth graders from Poudre School District’s Elementary and Middle Schools. The performanc­e includes honor choirs and guest choirs from elementary and middle schools, along with several guest conductors. All of the student performers will perform a combined finale at the end of the one-hour concert.
