Gregor y J. Whitten
January 13, 1978 - March 9, 2024
In beautiful loving memory of Gregory James Whitten, 46, of Ft.collins, who passed away on March 9, 2024.
It is an understatement to say Greg will be missed. He will bless us and live on through our hearts, thoughts and memories forever. Greg was a remarkable athlete whose passion for sports ignited a flame in all who knew him. From his days on the football and wrestling teams at TVHS to his Collegiate rugby career at Western State University, Greg's athleticism was matched only by his dedication and pride in his pursuits. As a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter at Colorado State University, he found brotherhood and camaraderie that enriched his life. Beyond the realm of sports, Greg's love for adventure and the outdoors was profound. An avid boater, water skier, wakeboarder, and wakesurfer, he found his greatest joy on the serene waters of Lake Mcconaughy. His love for hunting, fishing, and camping further attested to his deep connection with nature. Yet, above all, Greg cherished his role as a loving and dedicated father to his beloved son, Maxwell.
Professionally, after graduating from
Colorado State University, Greg's journey was illustrious marked by his success at Gallo Wines and Fortune 100 companies including Pfizer. However, it was his role as an advocate for senior living at Morning Star Ft.collins that truly showcased his skills of ultimate compassion. For nearly six years, he served as the Director of Community Relations, touching the lives of many with his warmth and kindness. Greg's commitment to his community extended beyond the professional realm. He devoted himself to coaching youth sports, particularly football, instilling values of teamwork and determination in the next generation.
Greg is survived by his father, Larry Whitten, of Ft. Collins; his mother, Joann Bigner, of Loveland; his sister, Kiffany Whitten, of Denver; and his son, Maxwell James Whitten, of Fort Collins. Rest in peace, Dearest Greg, knowing you are deeply loved and profoundly missed.
