Jr. Lady Panthers secure victory in home competition hosting Abundant Life
The Magnet Cove Jr. Panthers brought a competitive and aggressive approach to the hardwood Monday while hosting the Abundant Life Jr. Lady Owls for junior high volleyball competition at the Magnet Cove High School Gymnasium.
In the first match, the Jr. Lady Panthers went three sets for intense action against Abundant Life. Magnet Cove lost the first set 26-24, but rallied back to win set two 25-21 to force a third and deciding set for the winner take all. In set three, Magnet Cove battled hard, but Abundant Life secured victory 15-12 to defeat Magnet Cove 2-1.
In the second match, the Jr. Panthers took care of business and cruised to a 2-0 sweep in sets against the Jr. Lady Owls. In set one, Magnet Cove won 25-12 and dominated set two 25-7 for an overall impressive performance.
Magnet Cove volleyball head coach Donica McEntire was proud how the Jr. Lady Panthers performed in both matches against Abundant Life. McEntire knows there is still room for improvement, but she feels her team has grasped the concept of the game to develop into productive players.
McEntire mentioned, the Jr. Lady Panthers are communicating, moving their feet with better ball movement. “We are progressing each game and still have a lot to learn. But I was pleased how the girls played,” McEntire said.
The Jr. Lady Panthers turn their focus to face Maumelle Charter for junior high volleyball competition on Monday, September 28 at home at the MCHS gymnasium.
