HSC Leadership Forum available virtually

- By Sarah Perry Editor

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020-21 Hot Spring County Leadership Forum is going virtual.

Instead of having a group of participants who meet once a month in person, the forum will be conducted through videos posted on the forum’s Facebook page, according to Gerald Black, chairman of the forum.

The videos which will be posted at 10 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month, will be available for anyone to watch.

The first video year will be posted Oct. 15.

Usually participants in the forum visit and tour various places across the county, but the pandemic has presented some additional challenges, Black said.

Through this odd year, Black noted, the forum hopes to prepare for the 2021-2022 year and spread awareness about the program.

The forum was created in 2013 to increase the awareness of servant leadership and to give individuals the opportunity to be more engaged in the community.

Black used the phase that 20 percent of people usually do 80 percent of the work adding that the forum is looking for more “20 percent people” to participate.

He encourages active community minded people to take part in the program.

This is not the first time that forum participants have met virtually.

This spring, the members of the 2019-2020 HSC Leadership Forum had to change their plan for meetings because of COVID-19. The met virtually in May and then recently participated in a graduation ceremony virtually.
