ta Baptist University with a double major in music and organ. Patsy later attended Southweste­rn Baptist Theologica­l Seminary and graduated with a Master’s degree in early childhood developmen­t. She taught school in West Plains, Missouri, Cherokee Village, Jonesboro, Bossier City, Louisiana, and finished her teaching career, retiring in 2003 after 28 years in the Malvern School District. While living in Bossier City, she worked at the church which she attended, helping with the children of fellow members. After her retirement, she taught music at Fields School. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Patsy was a prolific volunteer. She delivered Meals on Wheels, gave of her time at the local library, Libby’s R. O. S. E., and played piano at Kiwanis, where she was also a member. After her retirement, and between volunteer gigs, Patsy was a local sales representa­tive for Avon.

She is survived by her husband, Paul A. Bray, to whom she was married on October 14, 1995; by several cousins and many friends.

Patsy was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Burrow, and an infant sister, Beverly Burrow.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Sunday afternoon, September 20, 2020 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Billy Bartlett officiatin­g. Entombment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Barbara Ann Thrower Smith

On April 16, 1950, in Malvern, Arkansas, the late Benjamin Thrower and Pauline Bivens Thrower welcomed into the world their only child, a sweet, kind, and sassy baby girl they named Barbara Ann.

On September 9, 2020, Barbara Ann Thrower Smith, left her earthly home and gained her wings. Even though her physical presence no longer graces the earth, her spirit and memory will live strong in her family and all those she met, who eventually became her family of friends- ones she cared for so deeply.

Survivors include son, Freddie (Tracey) Smith Jr, of Copperas Cove, TX; her long time significan­t other Swayze Pruitt of Hot Springs, AR; grandchild­ren: Mercedez Smith, Chance Smith and Damon Witherspoo­n of Killeen, TX, Jessie Ochoa of Grand Rapids, MI; extended son Steven Pruitt of Hot Springs; seven great-grandchild­ren; aunt, Virginia Young of Malvern; best “little” friend Kaydance “Kay Kay” Hart 0f Malvern, AR; extended family: Godparents Pete (Dorothy) Willis; God daughter, LaShelle (Earl) Jones; God sister, Jennifer (Jimmy) Cook all of Malvern, AR; two God grandchild­ren; step sisters and brothers: Edward Green, Charlie (Brenda) Simpson, Laura (Jimmy) Hunter, and Judy (James) Pierce of Malvern, AR; Priscilla Chandler of Little Rock and Johnnie (Robin) Simpson of Dallas Texas and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Elizabeth Ann Whitley

Elizabeth Ann Whitley, 77, of Malvern passed away with her family at her side Thursday, September 17, 2020. She was born September 3, 1943, in Gifford, to the late Colter & Aline Beard Clift in Malvern.

Ann retired from US Bank after 24 years of service; was a member of Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she served with the Ladies Auxiliary and loved singing with the choir. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. She was best known for her cookies, homemade ice cream and cream corn. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, aunt and friend.

She was predecease­d by her parents; her siblings, Mary Aline Perry, Edward L. Clift, James R. Clift, Albert Lane Clift, Gerald Lee Clift and Jerry Lynn Clift.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Jerry Don Whitley; two daughters, Leann Whitley and Karen (Blake) Walters; one son, Brent (Michelle) Whitley; grandchild­ren, Travis, Thomas & Jonathan Trammel, Dusty & Witt Walters, Hayden & Emery Whitley and Hunter McCullough and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 20 from 2:004:00pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be Monday, September 21 at 12:00pm at Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Maxie Haynes, Todd Bray and Mark Thornton officiatin­g. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bismarck. Pallbearer­s will be her grandsons.

Janet Lynn Bennett

Janet Lynn Bennett, also known as “Chatter Box” age 53 of Malvern passed away September 18, 2020. She was born July 27, 1967 in California to Danny Herring and Barbara Hall Herring. She was preceded in death by her mother; Barbara Herring and Mark Bennett.

Survivors include her children: Justin Suggs and Virginia Suggs, her father: Danny Herring all of Malvern, sisters: Donna Fedric of Hot Springs and Rhonda Herring of Sheridan, grandchild­ren Markuise Gray, Maddison Suggs, Mackenzie Suggs, Brently Suggs and Izabell Hall, and additional family members Paxton Sharp, Larry Crites and Patrick Cowell.

Mickey “Mouse” Obennoskey

Mickey “Mouse” Obennoskey, age 74 of Malvern passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at her home. She was born March 29, 1946 in Oak Grove, Louisiana the daughter of Percy Lee “Bull” Sr., and Malissia Thames Gunter. Mickey was a homemaker, loved to play Bingo and go to yard sales and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James “Big O” Obennoskey to whom she married April 27, 1973, two brothers, Larry Keith “Sonny” Gunter, and Percy Lee Gunter Jr., and her granddog Shadow.

Survivors are her daughter, Tonya Geurin, grandson, James Cody Standifer all of Malvern, sisters, Judy Webb (husband Bill), Chris Johnson, Sandra Huffty all of Louisiana and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Big Creek Cemetery with Brother Scott Efird officiatin­g.

Carolyn Ruth Roland Lormand

Carolyn Ruth Roland Lormand of Malvern, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2020 at CHI St. Vincent’s in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born February 16, 1939 in Poyen, Arkansas, the youngest of eight children to E.L. and Mattie Heitman Roland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters: Edith Davis, Reatha Edwards, Mildred (Kate) Plummer, Gracie Stinson, and Neoma Edwards and by two brothers: John Rowland and Wayne Roland. She was also preceded in death by her four cats who were like her babies and were dearly loved.

She is survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her very much.

Carolyn graduated from Poyen High School in Poyen, Arkansas in 1957 and went on to be an x-ray technician for some years. She later attended Draughns Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas and graduated with a degree in business.

Carolyn lived in Houston, Texas, Scottsdale, Arizona, and San Diego, California before retiring to Arkansas to be near her Family. She worked as a secretary in many capacities before settling into a position for a doctor at the County Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California where she eventually retired from. She was instrument­al in assisting this doctor in writing a book in which she was honorably mentioned.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Poyen cemetery in Poyen, Arkansas with Rev. Jason Keisler officiatin­g. Visitation will be at graveside at 1 P.M. and services at graveside at 2 P.M.

Dorman B. Yancey

Dorman B. Yancey, age 94 of Malvern, died Monday, September 21, 2020 in North Little Rock. He was born at Perla, Arkansas on July 20, 1926 to the late Ben Franklin Yancey and Nora May Miller Yancey. Reared and educated in Malvern, he worked in the Security Department at the Reynolds Metals plant in Jones Mill for 41 years. Dorman was a member of First Baptist Church, was a Boy Scout leader, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and member of the Rockport Lodge #58, F. & A. M. He was a

United States Army veteran. Dorman was the widower of the late Mary Jordan Yancey, to whom he was married on June 24, 1950. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2014.

He is survived by his six children, Jackie and her husband, Jamey Smith of Little Rock, Terri Javert of Little Rock, Steven and his wife, Shannon Yancey of Malvern, Barry and his wife, Delana Yancey of Newport, Abbie and her husband, Kelly Hogan of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and Bruce and his wife, Lisa Yancey of Hot Springs; eight grandchild­ren, numerous great-grandchild­ren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Dorman was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Yancey, and a half-sister, Lena Baldwin.

A private family graveside will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Brother Tony Burrow officiatin­g, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

A special thanks from the family goes to the staff and caregivers of 1-Bravo at the North Little Rock Veterans Administra­tion Hospital for their compassion­ate care of Dorman.

Benny Hugh Mauney

Benny Hugh Mauney, age 63 passed Away

September 22, 2020. Benny was born February 28, 1957 in Malvern, Arkansas to Cecil and Mary Mauney. Benny was known for his kindness, generosity and lively joking personalit­y. Benny was a man of many skills; he enjoyed gardening, helping others in need, and his two favorite canines in the whole world his beloved Melvin and Slim.

Benny is survived by his son; Drew Mauney, Brother Cecil Mauney (Terri) both of Malvern Arkansas.

Norman Lou Guthrie

Norman Lou Guthrie, age 83, died on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Truro, Iowa, on September 27, 1936 to the late Wilbert Guthrie and Wilma Scherdin Guthrie. Reared and educated in both Iowa and Texas, he graduated from Phillips High School in Phillips, Texas in 1955. After graduation, he went to work for Natural Gas Pipeline Company. He was transferre­d to the Malvern station in 1976, and retired after 32 years with the company in September 1992. Norman was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed woodworkin­g, fishing, waterskiin­g, and being involved in the activities of his family, especially his grandchild­ren. Lots of friends and family learned to waterski while he pulled them behind his boat on Lake DeGray. He was a member of North Main Church of Christ.

Norman is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melba Jo Hathaway Guthrie, two daughters and their spouses he loved like sons, Pam and Mark Smith, and Jill and Shane Gregory, all of Malvern. The true blessings in his life were his four grandchild­ren, Cody Smith and wife, McKenzie of Stuttgart, Carson Smith of Conway, and Jake and Tara Gregory of Malvern; two nieces, Kathy VanDike of Norwalk, Iowa, Bonnie Jones of Newport, Washington; a nephew, Tom Guthrie of Norwalk, Iowa; and his best fur buddy, Prissy.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Wounded Warriors and Tunnels to Towers.

Rodney Evan Smith

Rodney Evan Smith also known as “Hot Rod” age 58 of Malvern passed away September 20, 2020. He was born July 30, 1962 in Buchanan MI to Vernon Leon and Peggy Ruth Evan Smith. He was a car salesman for Teeter Chevrolet for many years. His passion was cars and baseball and he was an avid Cubs fan and he was of the Baptist faith. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Ron and Rick Smith.

Survivors include his wife Tracy Gates Smith to whom he married on December 3, 1982, children: Ryan (Debbie) Smith of Bryant, Rusty (Erica) Smith of Malvern, Tara Smith (Jason Hawkins) of Benton, two grandchild­ren: Nora Lynn Smith and Ava Claire Smith, four sisters: Joanne Spears, Marilyn Garrett, Sandy Page and Kim Smith, 13 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews and 40 greatgreat nieces and nephews, and his childhood friend that he considered like a brother David Cobler.

A memorial service and time of remembranc­e will be held Saturday September 26, at 5:00pm with David Spears to officiate. Visitation will follow the service. Covid-19 guidelines to be followed and mask are required at service.

Orlene Manning

Orlene Manning 87, of Malvern passed away on September 23, 2020. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Labon and Marilla Sharp, also her husband, Auvergene Manning Sr. and two sons, Auvergene Manning Jr., and Jerry Manning.

She is survived by son Van Manning and daughter Jackie Williams along with her grandchild­ren; Marita Yager; Clay Manning; Marisa McCaulay; Keith Williams; Justin Williams and Devin Backarich, and Eight Great grandchild­ren.

Ileana “Butch” Harris Cox

Ileana “Butch” Harris Cox, age 96, of Malvern passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home. She was born September 21, 1924, in Malvern, the daughter of the late Gust Alfonzo and Ada Blasingame Harris. Butch was a member of the Seventh Day

Adventist Church in Malvern and the Hot Spring County Garden Club. She enjoyed knitting, country music concerts and enjoyed having fun with her family. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis “Max” Maxwell Cox, whom she married on July 3, 1945 and her great grandson, Connor M. Cox.

Survivors, daughter, Susan Draper of Malvern sons, Ernie Cox (Sherry) of Malvern and Dr. Lewis Cox (Charlotte) of Hot Springs; grandchild­ren, Nikki White (Chris) of Malvern, Chad Cox (Chrystal) of Bentonvill­e, Mark Looper (Joanie) of Sheridan and Katelyn Eason (Joshua), Breanne Dunn (Kristopher), Benjamin Cox all of Hot Springs; great grandchild­ren, Elli White, Addi White, Aiden Rios, Lillian Cox, Kallen Dunn, Karoline Dunn, Chance Draper and Jesus Elias. Butch is also survived by numerous friends and her church family.

Loyd Bultena

Loyd Bultena, age 90 of Malvern, died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Encore Healthcare and Rehab. He was born on November 25, 1929 in Oosterniel­and, The Netherland­s, to the late Barteld Bultena and Pieterke Van Dyken Bultena. Reared and educated in The Netherland­s, he and his wife emigrated to the United States in 1953, shortly after their marriage on May 28th of that year, and ultimately became naturalize­d citizens. Loyd was proud to be an American! Prior to coming to America, Loyd served in Dutch Army. He worked hard to support his growing family: he hauled billets at Caney, was manager of the Cordell/Pennington Minnow Farm at Central, retired from Natural Gas Pipeline company, and worked at the Food Center for many years. A faithful member of First United Methodist Church, he was a member and teacher of the Friendship Sunday School class, and sang in the church choir. Loyd was also very civic-minded and had a volunteer spirit. He sat on the Malvern City Planning Commission, was a long-time member of the Hot Spring County Quorum Court, performing countless marriages in his position as Justice of the Peace, was a member of Civitan, served as Sergeant-at-arms in the General Assembly at the state capitol, and was on the volunteer council and served as board president of the Petty Center. His beloved wife, Tena Brondijk Bultena preceded him in death just over a year ago, on August 10, 2019.

He is survived by his children, Alice and her husband, Alan Overturf of Malvern, Penny Gassman of Diamondhea­d, and Loyd Bultena, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Little Rock; 10 grandchild­ren, four great-grandchild­ren; two brothers, Willem and Fokke Bultena, and two sisters, Alstje and Pieterke, all of

Holland.

Loyd was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

A private family graveside service will be held at Rockport Memorial Gardens, officiated by Loyd’s grandson, Wade Overturf, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home. A public celebratio­n of his life will be held at First United Methodist Church at a later date.

Allene Hasley

Allene Hasley, age 89, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on September 26, 2020. Allene was born March 9, 1931 to D.A. Efird and Emma Jewel Efird.

Allene loved gardening, cooking and crafts. She was a lover of life and full of life. More than anything she was an encourager; always supporting and encouragin­g others. She was such a wonderful example and will be missed.

Allene is preceded in death by her parents, D.A. Efird and Emma Jewel Efird; her husband of fifty-one years, Paul Hasley; a daughter, Anna Gail Hasley; a brother, Toney Efird; a sister, Patsy Scholes.

She is survived by her four sons, Glenn, Larry, Roger, and Adam Hasley; her three daughters, Paula Brown, Andrea Hasley, RaeLynn Hasley; a brother, Maynard Efird; two sisters, Vi Anna Reynolds and Susan Smoke; her lifelong friend, Bobbie Sexton; seventeen grandchild­ren and ten great-grandchild­ren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Lower Antioch Cemetery at 2 P.M. with her nephews as Pallbearer­s.

Edna Murlene “Caddy” Faulkner

Edna Murlene “Caddy” Faulkner, age 91, formerly of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away at 1:05 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Liberty Village of Jerseyvill­e in Jerseyvill­e, IL. Murlene was born on April 17, 1929, in Tulip, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Best Few Caldwell Caddy & Cora Edna (Perser) Caddy. She married Frank Faulkner on December 30, 1960, in St. Louis, MO. Frank preceded her in death on July 27, 1986. Murlene is survived by 6 sons, Thomas Faulkner, Ronald Faulkner, Douglas A. Clemons, Clifford P. Faulkner, Charles J. Faulkner, and Clyde Keith Faulkner; 3 daughters, Patricia A. Bench, Marian J. Halley, and Barbara E. Faulkner; 17 grandchild­ren; 29 great grandchild­ren; 1 great great grandchild; 2 brothers, Leo Raymond Caddy of Tulip, AR and David Caldwell Caddy of Malvern, AR; and 1 sister, Sarah Adeline Puckett of Neosho, MO. Sharon Gail Phillips

Sharon Gail Phillips, 64, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. She was born June 28, 1956, was a CNA and a member of the Tabernacle of Praise church. She could always fill the room with her wonderful presence and smile. She was well loved and will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Danny Norwood, and Wanda Tompkins of Malvern, her one true love, Bobby Phillips, her oldest daughter and grandson, Carla and Joey Wingfield of Glen Rose, a sister, Shirley Buck of Malvern, and 2 nephews, Ki, and Casey Caldwell, both of Malvern.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Rogers (Randy) of Lono, a son, BJ Phillips, a sister and two brothers, all of Malvern. She loved her 8 grandchild­ren, Amanda (Chris), Rebecca (Gavin), Mason (Bailei), Carla (Blake), Cameron, Calie, Jac and Gunner, her 4 great grandchild­ren, Braylon, Avery, Huntlee, Josie and Dom, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the best caretakers in the world and her best friends Kristi Walker and Mary Shnaekel.

Celebratio­n of Life will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Tabernacle of Praise church on Pine Bluff Street at 12:00 with Pastor Deloris presiding. Covid 19 guidelines to be followed and mask are needed.

Margaret “Meg” Kratz

Margaret “Meg” Kratz, age 80, of Malvern passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at her home. She was born December 4, 1939, in Texarkana, the daughter of the late James Patrick and Pauline McKnight McKeehan. Margaret worked as a medical transcript­ionist for HSC Medical Center and was the co-owner of Malvern Welding Supply. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crosswords, crocheting, reading and going to her grandkids ballgames. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers, Pat and Kenneth McKeehan.

Survivors, husband, of 47 years, Wendell Kratz; son, Kee Kratz and wife Amanda of Glen Rose; grandsons, Riley and Tyler Kratz and numerous nieces and cousins.

Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 3, at 3:00pm at Harp Cemetery with Brothers Maxie Haynes and Donis Smead officiatin­g. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30pm at Regency Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearer­s will be the men of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Susan Kay Dugan

On the evening of September 29, 2020, Susan Kay Dugan, loving wife, mother, and grandmothe­r passed away at the age of 58.

Susan was born on October 4, 1961 to the late Arthur and Verna Schneider in Malvern, AR. She married the love of her life Larry Dugan on February 13, 1982.

Susan was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great grandmothe­r, and a devout Jehovah’s Witness. She was one of the kindest and sweetest people you would ever meet, kind of like the southern sweet tea she was always drinking, which was as strong as her southern accent. She treated her friends as if they were family, and she never met a stranger. Many of her children’s friends also thought of her as a mother figure. She was a homemaker and grand momma extraordin­aire and her favorite past times included going to church, shopping, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Dugan; by her brother-in-law, Gary Dugan; her sister Iona Dye; her children: Sandra and Brad Pierce, Brandon Dugan, and Daniel and Sandra Dugan; honorary daughter: Renee Gaddis; her six grandchild­ren: Austin, Aiden, Alexei, CJ, Dakota, and Marcus; her two great grandchild­ren: Zayden and Zayn; and a whole host of other friends and family. She is predecease­d in death by her mother and father Arthur and Verna Schneider; brother, Norman Schneider; sister, Orami Coleman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 6pm-8pm and the funeral will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 4pm; both will be held at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern, AR.

Louella “Nana” Canada

Louella “Nana” Canada, age 87, of Malvern passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Encore Nursing and Rehabilita­tion. She was born September 13, 1933, in Midway, the daughter of the late Ervin and Hattie Treadway Pilcher. Louella was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. In 2018, she was chosen to be Mrs. Encore. She loved to play bingo, work in the garden, crotchet and do arts and crafts. Louella also loved her “girls get away” to Sonic for a milkshake. Her first love was her family. At the end of every phone call she would tell you she loved you. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on July 5, 1954, Kenneth Canada; son-in-law, John Lytle and her sister and brotherin-law, Hazel and Raymond Chancellor.

Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Melba Lytle of Malvern and Diane James (Herbert) of Malvern; sister, Betty Smoke of Russellvil­le; grandchild­ren, Chris James and Ashley Lindsey; great-grandchild­ren, Brianna James, Christophe­r Ty James and Grace Marie James and great-great grandchild­ren, Bently James, Weston James, Easton James and Oakley James.

Ozie Brian Clegg

On October 31, 1965, Ozie Brian Clegg was born to the parentage of Ozie B. Clegg and Ceola Smith. He transition­ed into peaceful rest on September 26, 2020.

Jodell Williams

Jodell Williams, age 67, of Poyen passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020. He was born April 10, 1953, in Malvern, the son of the late Odell and Joyce Hope Williams. Jodell was a member of Poyen Missionary Baptist Church and a devout Christian. He enjoyed taking his dogs squirrel hunting, loved bluegrass music and was a gun collector, trader and seller. Jodell never met a stranger.

Survivors, wife, Diane James Williams; children, Ben Williams (Jean) of Ponchatoul­a, Louisiana, Carrie Tolson of Poyen and Steven Cox (Monica) of Berryville, Arkansas; grandchild­ren, Lauren, Jillian, Allison, Asher, Annabel and Amelia; sisters, Judy Fite (Kenny) of Poyen and Janet Wallace (Kenneth) of Leola and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmie J. Hinds

Jimmie J. Hinds, age 87, of Malvern passed away on

Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his home. He was born March 26, 1933, in Burnet, Texas, the son of the late James Robert and Clara Watson Hinds. He served in the United States Army. Jimmie was a private pilot and loved flying, traveling and meeting people. He was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in Malvern. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hinds; sisters, Veatrice and Peggy and his first wife, Ginko Hinds.

Survivors, wife, whom he married on May 5, 1990, Judy L. Hinds; son, Samuel Hinds (Carrie) of Comanche, Oklahoma, daughter, Martha Chritchfie­ld (Mike) of California; step-sons, Javan Haynes (Jonny), Jeremy Haynes (April), Jesse Haynes and Justin Haynes (Janna); step-daughters, Starlina Haynes, Timna Haynes and Stacy Yakely (Kevin); sister, Clarisa Hinds of California; grandchild­ren, Ashely, Caleb, Rachael and Ayden; great grandchild, Caymas and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Frank Gilson Sr.

Frank Gilson, Sr. age 85, of Malvern passed away at his home on October 2, 2020. He was born on August 8, 1935 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas the son of Richard Franklin and Millie Louise Haas Gilson. Frank was owner and operator of W.F. Gilson Constructi­on and after retirement was a well-known Handy Man in the Malvern area. He loved to fish, watch westerns, play cards and was of the Pentecosta­l faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Genice Gilson; son, William Franklin Gilson Jr.; daughter, Theresa Lynn Hobbs; brother, Ed Gilson, and sister, Sylvia Evans.

Survivors are his daughter, Paula Trumbo (Mike); son, Clyde Evans (Joann) all of Malvern; grandchild­ren, Kenneth Giesbrecht Jr., (Brandi), Brandalin Arr (David), Brent Trumbo and Natalie Mendoza; great-grandchild­ren, Wyatt Williams, Megan Arr, Kailah Brooks, Michael, Ryan, Maci, Emma, and Connor Trumbo, Jacob and Cody Giesbrecht, Samuel Browne, Francisco and Jeremy Mendoza; numerous nieces and nephews and his fur baby Frisky.

Visitation will be Tuesday October 6, from 10AM until 11AM at Regency.

Doyle O. Cook

Doyle O. Cook age 88, of Midway, Arkansas passed away Friday October 2, 2020 at his home. He was born November 16, 1931 in Saginaw the son of Albert and Susie

Cates Cook. He was a lifelong farmer, and co-owner of Cook Brothers Sand and Gravel. He served five terms as Hot Spring County Sheriff from Jan 1983 until December 1992. He loved being a lawman. Doyle was a Deacon and member of the Midway Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and work his sawmill. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of sixty years, Ann Lea (McDaniel) Cook and brother, Donald J. Cook.

Doyle is survived by his daughter, Susan (Randy) Parish; son, Alan (Ginger) Cook; grandson, Ryan (Stacey Parish); granddaugh­ters, Andrea (Dusty) Tugwell and Jill Parish; great-grandsons, Jackson Leighton Tugwell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 6PM until 8PM at Regency. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 7, at 10AM at the Midway Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Fred Etheridge and Alan Cansler officiatin­g. Burial in Neighbors Cemetery. Martha Diane Dixson

Martha Diane Dixson, 55, of Malvern stepped into eternity with Jesus on Friday, October 2, 2020. She was born on June 8, 1965. Though her time here was brief, she impacted countless lives, especially as a Christ Follower, Gold Star Mother, and Cancer Warrior. She leaves a legacy of sincere faith in her Heavenly Father and a fierce love for those closest to her.

Martha had a servant’s heart, passionate determinat­ion, and a generous spirit. Her adventures often involved a motorcycle or dancing shoes. She defied odds all her life with strength and courage that continue to testify to God’s grace. God blessed her and He blessed us with her.

She is forever loved and deeply missed by her daughters: Virginia (Manoj) Wagley, Jamie (Brad) Hogue, and Amber Wiggins; her grandchild­ren: Mason, Isaiah, Zane, & Jeremiah Wagley, and Austin, Eliana, & Everlyn Hogue; her siblings: Ann Robbins, Louise Samuel, and Frank Dixson; and many other family and friends. She was reunited in Glory with her son, Donovan Witham, and her parents George Junior Dixson, Maxine Beck, and Alvin Earles.

Martha is now held in the arms of her forever dance partner, Jesus Christ. Oh, what a sweet day it will be to see her again and hear how her eternal story has unfolded on that side of Heaven.
