John Robinette, age 71 of Malvern, Arkansas passed away on October 16, 2020. John was born November 28, 1948 to the late George Robinette and Alene Robinette.

His is preceded in death by his parents, former wife, Debra Robinette and brother, Paul Robinette.

John is survived by his wife Mary Robinette; Son, J.D. Robinette; Daughters, Katrina (Jimmy) Lester, Michelle Robinette, Rebekah (Debbie) Robinette, and Sarah Robinette; Brother, Randy Robinette and many grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

John had a passion for karaoke and that is where he met his wife, Mary. John could be found most anytime singing karaoke and enjoy his time with his family and friends.

Donna Jean Ivy

Donna Jean Ivy, age 79, of Malvern passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020. She was born May 5, 1941, in Redfield, Arkansas the daughter of the late Henry and Katherine Hopper Draper. Donna worked at Ouachita School District as a custodian. She enjoyed going out to eat and planting flowers. Donna was a member of Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Ivy, whom she married on October 30, 1959.

Survivors, son, Tony Ivy (Velvet) of Malvern; daughter, Abby Tuggle (Josh) of Glen Rose; brothers, Harrison Draper (Heidi) of Malvern and Robert Draper (Shirley) of Malvern; sister, Katherine Richardson (Sam) of Malvern; grandchild­ren, Mack Ivy of Little Rock, Chase Ivy of Malvern, Blaine Tuggle (Kirsten) of Glen Rose; great grandchild, Timberlynn Jean Tuggle.

William Gaylon Deavers

William Gaylon Deavers, age 78, of Malvern passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at CHI St. Vincent Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born on August 5, 1942 in Heart, Arkansas. He was the son of John Deavers and Bunice Romine. William was married to the love of his life, Victorine Deavers for 44 years. William was retired from the U.S. Navy and Toler & Sons Lumber Mill. Gaylon proudly served in the U.S. Navy 30 years before retiring. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vicky Deavers and sister, Revina Booth.

Survivors are his daughter, Becky Vanderburg and husband Mark of Hot Springs; son, Allen Deavers of Malvern; three grandchild­ren, Marah Baker (Thomas), Mark Allen Vanderburg and Megan Ray (Anthony) all of Hot Springs; one great-grandson, Cole James “Bubba” Ray; sister, LaDonna Warner of Virginia; brother, Ronnie Romine (Linda) of Salem, Arkansas; four sisters-in-law, Patsy McMullen, Jan Miller, Laverne Phelphs and Ruth Dial (Larry) and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Friday, October 23 at 2:00pm at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Tim Carpenter officiatin­g. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Steven Davis

Steven Davis, age 65, of Malvern passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at his home. He was born December 28, 1954, in Malvern, the son of the late Bernard and Betty Bennett Davis. Steven worked as a manager for Lisenby Jewelry. He enjoyed attending holiday events, photograph­y, traveling and reading the consumer reports.

Survivors, cousins, Dr. Paul Davis of Pine Bluff, Linda Hoffman of Little Rock, Claude Allen Davis of Hot Springs, Tom and Kay Lisenby of Malvern and David Johnson. Steven is also survived by his fur babies, Sam and Red and many second and third cousins and other family members.

Graveside Service will be held Sunday, October 25 at 2:00pm at Lono Cemetery. Pallbearer­s will be Clint Styles, Kale Johnson, Cody Bailey, Robbie Holyfield, Michael Whitmire and David Johnson.

Mark K. Sullivan

Mark K. Sullivan, 64, of Little Rock, Arkansas was born July 4, 1956 and died on October 19, 2020.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Jo Ann Sullivan of Little Rock; his father Robert Sullivan of Donaldson; his brother Mike Sullivan of Hot Springs; his sister Lisa A. Sullivan, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

Mark was a lifelong member of Pulaski Heights Presbyteri­an Church. He was also formerly employed as the church sexton and was a Ruling Elder at the church. Mark was a graduate of Little Rock Catholic High, where he was in ROTC. He later joined the US Marines.

Mark is survived by his sister, Paula Driver of Hot Springs. He is also survived by his beloved nephews and nieces, Sean, David, Scott, Whitney, Amber and Jayden and many cousins.

Mark leaves behind many beloved friends that certainly will miss him. Mark so loved his church PHPC, the Reverend Ruskin Falls, church secretary Jane Ann and the rest of his church family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Mark.

Pamela Sugg

Pamela Sugg, age 62, of Alexander passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her home. She was born January 12, 1958, in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Herman and Louise Robertson Currington, Sr. Pam was a substitute teacher for Glen Rose School District for 20 years. Pam was an extraordin­ary musician. Well taught by her father, Herman. She played several instrument­s including the guitar, bass, and piano. She had a beautiful voice and led the children’s choir at Trinity Baptist Church for many years. As talented as she was, she was also very humble and usually let others take the lead because she was so shy. She cherished her time working with the youth and made many memories. She loved her family, she loved horses but most importantl­y, she loved God! She had a kind spirit and was a giving person. She is, without any doubt, celebratin­g with the angel’s today!

She was married to her first husband, Roger, for 25 years until he passed from cancer in 2005. She was alone for many years and God blessed her once again with a wonderful partner to spend the last years of her life with. Ralph Warford came into the family and brought many years of happiness and new adventures. She traveled, got to see the ocean, and challenged herself to get out of her comfort zone.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Roger Sugg, Sr.; brother, Herman Wayne “Butch” Currington, Jr. and sister, Annette Brady.

Grace Marie Hixon

Mrs. Grace Marie Hixon, of Donaldson, AR, went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2020. She was a devoted, Christian wife and mother.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Mary Ann) Hixon, of Donaldson, AR, her daughter, Waynetta (Gary) Lloyd, of Donaldson, AR, and by many grand and great grandchild­ren along with nieces and nephews.

Margaret Elizabeth Morgan Redric

On Sunday June 24, 1934, a midwife delivered a baby girl born to Mr. Jimmie James Morgan and Mrs. Missouri Evans Morgan in Malvern, Arkansas. The parents named the baby girl after her maternal grandmothe­r Margaret Elizabeth Morgan. Margaret was the fourth of five children and the first daughter born to this union. She was reared under the watchful eye of her parents and her aunt Mamie Morgan who lived in the home with the family. Margaret was taught the importance of family and loved her parents and siblings dearly.

Margaret professed a steadfast hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Malvern Arkansas. She was life long member and served in the following capacities: Member of the Board of Trustees, Class Leader, President of the Sarah Perry Smith Women’s Missionary Society, a Stewardess, and a member of the Kitchen Committee.

Margaret attended the Malvern Colored Schools. Where she excelled as a student. Margaret was twice elected Homecoming Queen, and in the fall of 1952, she entered the newly minted Annie Agnes Wilson High School. In May of 1953, she graduated as a member of the first graduating class of The Annie Agnes Wilson High School.

She was no stranger to hard work. Her parents instilled in her the importance of a good work ethic, and they further taught her that in order to achieve in life you must work for it. These values and principles governed throughout her life. She gainfully found employment with the following entities: Dietary Kitchen Supervisor at Tuggle Elementary School, Curtis Mathis Manufactur­ing, West Brother Department Store, Gibson Department Store, Bulk Sack, and lastly Dietary Worker at the Senior Adult Center. Though she worked in the public sector she also worked as a seamstress. She was a skilled seamstress and could make anything; this truly was her passion. There was nothing she enjoyed more than going to Hancock’s Fabric Store browsing and selecting fabrics for future projects.

Margaret was united in holy matrimony to Alonzo Redic the son of John Davis Redic and Alberta Trotter Redic on September 26, 1953. This marriage would span 49 ½ years. Together they worked and achieved, and God afforded them the opportunit­y to see many of their dreams and ambitions come into fruition. This union produced one son, Alonzo Redic, Jr.

On Wednesday October 21, 2020, Margaret was summoned home that she might receive her heavenly reward. In her passing she was preceded in death by her aforementi­oned parents Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Morgan, her husband Mr. Alonzo Redic Sr., her sister Helen Frances Morgan-Flanigan, her brothers Henry Eugene Morgan Sr., Rueben Charles Morgan, and Ivory Morgan, her godmother/aunt Mamie Morgan, her in-laws Mr. and Mrs John D. Redic, her sister-in-laws, Doris M. Mc Clellan-Morgan, Flossie R. Newburn-Morgan, and Annie Bell Redic-Berry, Daisy Redic, her brother in laws Mr. Jimmy L. Flanigan, Lee Andrew D. Redic and Frank J. Berry.

Her memories will forever be clutched, by her son Mr. Alonzo Redic Jr. (Haty), of Malvern, Arkansas, her grandson Reverend Alonzo III (Dr. Gwendolyn) Redic, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, two great-grandchild­ren Kortni Roberts and Jackson Rauls of Mount Pleasant , South Carolina, her nieces Teresa Morgan-Davis, Donna C. Steven E. DuPriest

Steven E. DuPriest, age 66, of Malvern passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at his home. He was born, in Little Rock, on June 5, 1954 to Juanita DuPriest and the late Damon DuPriest. He was a United States Veteran. Steven was a saw pilot for West Frazier. He married on August 3, 2002 to Ally Lo. Steven was a hard worker and in his spare time he liked fishing and gardening. He was a long time member of Taylor’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern.

Survivors, include his wife, Ally DuPriest; mother, Juanita DuPriest of Malvern; sisters, Nancy Alexander of Sheridan; Beverly Hulsey of Traskwood, Brenda Matthews (Jerry) of Malvern and several nieces and nephews.

Leland “Fuller” Hendricks

Leland “Fuller” Hendricks, II, age 74 of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in Hot Springs. He was born on February 22, 1946 in Little Rock to the late Leland Fuller Hendricks and Bessie Marie Cox Hendricks. Reared and educated in Carlisle, Arkansas, Fuller took over the family insurance business in 1966, going on to have a long and successful career. He retired from Arkansas Farm Bureau, and later was able to fulfill his dream of owning his own business. He opened The Floor Store, on Main Street in Malvern, operating it for ten years. Fuller was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Benton, and was active in the Jaycee’s.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Turner Hendricks of Hot Springs, to whom he was married on October 23, 1980; his children, David Gentles (Darlene) of Pearcy, Gail Yandell (Ronny), and Kim Hendricks, all of Conway, Christy Henry (Dale) of Bentonvill­e, and Dana Hendricks of Benton; 13 grandchild­ren, Aaron Riggin, Emily Barnhill, Andrew “Dee” Riggin, Kaitlyn Riggin, Kyle

Trent Holloway

With our deepest sorrows, we announce that Trent Holloway, age 41, our beloved son, father, brother, family, and friend passed away unexpected­ly at home Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

Those who knew Trent, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He had such a strong passion for his daughter, family, sports, the Hogs, and Christ. He treasured his daughter and embraced every moment with her. He was a 10 year Veteran in the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

June Rose Jeffrey

June Rose Jeffrey entered this world on February 10, 1933, in Malvern Arkansas, to Felix Thomas and Ardilla Williams-Thomas. She was reared as a Christian and expressed a belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior at an early age where she joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern, AR.

She married Walter Collins and lived in Chicago Illinois for many years, and to that union one child, Broderick Collins was born. June and Broderick relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas. She united with First Baptist Church Rockport where she was a dedicated member under the leadership of then pastor, Dr. James N. McCollum.

June Rose Jeffrey attended A. A. Wilson High School in Malvern and retired from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences ( UAMS) where she worked as a Central Processing Laboratory Supervisor for over 20 years.

She is predecease­d by her parents, son, sister Sillerstei­n Duncan and brothers (William, and Felix Thomas).

Shirley Suddath Jim Hubbard

Jim will be forever loved and remembered by his devoted wife of 21 years, Cindi Hubbard, and his children Jimmy Hubbard (Ellen), Billy Hubbard (Rachel), Melissa Hurst, Chris Hubbard, Tyler Kalahiki, Matthew Hubbard, and Gracie Hubbard and grandchild­ren Emily Hurst, Garland Hurst, Bronley Hubbard, Brooklyn Hubbard, and Ethan Hubbard, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Jim is survived by his siblings, Sonny Hubbard, Billy Hubbard (Pam), and Dean Erwin. He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Hubbard Erwin.

We will miss him every day, especially when we are on the golf course, watching a Razorback game, or playing basketball in the driveway. Jim has gone by many titles – husband, dad, grandpa, friend, and coach. But the title that means the most to him, the one that has guided him through his life, is this – Christ follower. We take comfort in knowing that he is now healed and strolling the streets of gold with his King.

Pat Douglas

Pat Douglas age 88, of Malvern passed away Friday October 30, 2020 at Encore Healthcare and Rehab. She was born in Wilmington, CA. on December 15, 1931.

She was a Secretary for Western Auto and had been an assistant manager of Fred’s in Malvern. Pat was a member of Third Assembly of God Church and HSC Home Extension Club. She loved to paint, read, work in her flower gardens and sew but most of all loved her family.

She was preceded in death her parents, husband of 67 years, Paul Douglas; granddaugh­ter, Wendy Douglas Edwards; sister, Penny Dryer and brother, Ronnie Mello.

Betty Jean Goodman Pierce

Betty Jean Goodman Pierce, age 86, of Malvern passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her home. She was born January 21, 1934, in Malvern, the daughter of the late Mace and Mamie Alice Paul Goodman. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by his brother, Frank Goodman; sister, Carolyn Beasley and great-great grandchild, Gabriel Wood.

Survivors, spouse, Billie G. Dorothy Brown

Dorothy Brown, age 76, of Malvern passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020. She was born March 15, 1944, in Bismarck, the daughter of the late Fred and Gertrude Laird Loy. Dorothy worked as a secretary for Bray’s Heating and Air. She was of the Assembly of God faith. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, of 47 years, Charlie Brown and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors, son, Todd Brown; daughter, Tammy Edwards; grandchild­ren, Trey Edwards (Claire), Daniel Bunten (Brandy) and Vanessa Brown; great grandchild­ren, Austin, Macie, Madilyn, William, Zariya, Makyah, Zoey and Lucas and special friend, Elwood Edwards.

Gene Beckwith

Gene Beckwith, age 86, went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2020 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Gene was born July 19, 1934 to the late Floyd and Julie Beckwith.

A lifelong resident of Hot Springs and graduate of Fountain Lake High School, Gene was a generous man who never met a stranger. He was often referred to as a gentle giant. Gene worked for the OTASCO Company prior to its closing and in car sales in both Hot Springs and Malvern. After retirement, Gene spent 22 years as a volunteer in the Outpatient Department at St. Joseph Hospital, where he was named their first Volunteer of The Year in 1999.

Gene was an avid outdoorsma­n; he especially enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Later in his life, he spent many months on road trips across the United States and Canada. He was a loyal Arkansas Razorback fan and could often be found watching John Wayne Westerns.

Gene was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Hot Springs and the Gerren/ White Sunday School Class. His faith in God and love for his family carried him through life.

Gene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Norma Gray Beckwith; their son, Kevin (Leah) Beckwith; grandchild­ren Cade and Karigan, who were the joy of his life, all of Bismarck; his son, Harrell Beckwith of Hot Springs; grandchild­ren Jason and Julie and their families; his brothers Leonard (Mary Lou) Beckwith, Kenneth Beckwith of Hot Springs, and Larry (Becky) Beckwith of Calico Rock; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.

Pallbearer­s will be Greg Beckwith, Gary Beckwith, Darin Beckwith, Cliff Beckwith, Mike Schultz, and Josh Roe.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Quapaw Care & Rehabilita­tion Center, with special thanks to Danny Orren and Callie Guerrero.

A viewing will begin at 1pm, Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at First Baptist Church Hot Springs with funeral service following at 2pm with Pastor John McCallum officiatin­g. Interment to follow at Crestview Cemetery.

Betty Jean Dupree Griffin

Betty Jean Dupree Griffin, 64 of Malvern, Arkansas passed on October 26, 2020. She was born June 6, 1956 to the late Lenge Sr. and Clementine Hunter Dupree Sr. in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Betty was full of life, love, and laughter. She cherished her family and friends whom, she has touched throughout her years of life. She loved to worship the Lord; one of her favorite places to be was in the House of the Lord.

Betty was employed with the State of Arkansas as an Certified Nursing Assistant with Arkansas Health Center doing what she loved doing the most helping care for others. Betty was a wonderful CNA who took pride in making sure that her patients felt loved, received the best care and made sure they knew they had a friend in her. She later retired after completing 12 years of service at Arkansas Health center.

Betty attended church from childhood until the Lord called her home. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of True Believers Praise and Worship Sanctuary. she was baptized by Bishop Chris Penix and her brother Elder Marcus Goodman. She recently attended Unity Church of God in Christ in Hot Springs, Arkansas under Pastor Tyron Burnell.

Stan Allen

Stan Allen, 64, of Jonesboro, AR and formerly of Malvern, passed away September 22, 2020. He was born September 3, 1956 in Hot Springs, AR to Arvilee and Margie Sanders Allen. Stan was a member of Highland Drive Baptist Church in Jonesboro, a lifelong Razorbacks fan, and lover of the outdoors.

Stan graduated from Malvern High School in 1974 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University and master’s degree in Engineerin­g from the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le. He worked for Bray Internatio­nal as the Global Director of Valve Applicatio­n Engineerin­g and was recognized as an Engineerin­g Fellow based on his contributi­ons to the industry.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Kenneth Allen, Steve Allen, Shelba Tankersley, Patricia Wilson and Barbara Allen.

Survivors include his wife Arlene Daniel Allen to whom he married on January 7, 1977; sons Drew Allen of Washington, DC and Jon (Leslie) Allen of Gallatin, TN; daughter Lanie (Tyler) Rollings of Jonesboro, AR; grandchild­ren Cade, Audrey, Hadley, and Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7 at 1:30pm at De Roche Cemetery, in Bismarck, with Brother Wesley Howard officiatin­g. Please follow COVID guidelines, social distancing and mask are required.

Dianna L. Fitzhugh Bennett

Dianna L. Fitzhugh Bennett, age 70, of Malvern passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at NPMC-Hot Springs. She was born in Malvern on December 14, 1949 the daughter of Edgar L. and Doris P. Brandon Fitzhugh. Dianna was a homemaker and had worked as an instructor for 15 years at the Boys and Girls Club of Malvern and Hot Spring County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Clayton Jesse “C.J.” Bennett and brother, David Fitzhugh.

Survivors are her husband of forty-two years, Clayton Bennett; daughters, Christy Jackson (husband Tony) and Susan Bennett all of Malvern; brother, Steve Fitzhugh (wife Laurel) of Prescott, Arizona; two sisters, Rebecca and Delores Fitzhugh both of Denver, Colorado and her grandchild­ren, Austen and Abby Jackson.

Charlton Lane Jones

Charlton Lane Jones, 65, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 in Fort Smith. He was born March 26, 1955 in Arkadelphi­a.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merl Jones.

He is survived by his partner, Linda Marie Hastings; two daughters, Nicole Walton and Sherry Pham, both of Van Buren; his mother, Jo Jones of Malvern; two sisters, Sherry Taylor of Kerrville, Texas and Yolonda Thompson of Malvern; three grandchild­ren, William Walton, Sarah Pham, and Hannah Pham; and one great-grandchild, Willow Walton.

He had worked for Tate & Lyle in Van Buren. Lane worked hard at work and at home. When he was not working, he would spend time with Linda and go deer hunting, camping, and spent many hours immersed in books. He was a good dad to his daughters who will miss his laugh and his hugs.

A family-hosted memorial service will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Arkadelphi­a. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Glenda H. Culpepper

Glenda H. Culpepper, age 84 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and formerly of Malvern, died Sunday, November 1, 2020 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born in Malvern on July 24, 1936 to the late Roy Humble and Willie Goza Humble. Glenda spent her earliest years in Donaldson, and moved with her family to Malvern when she was in sixth grade. Graduating from Malvern High School, she later attended the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le. She worked in the payroll department at Reynolds Metals for a number of years. After rearing her children, she finished her career as a secretary at Pratt Kindergart­en. Glenda was a member of First Presbyteri­an Church of Malvern.

She is survived by her husband, Oren Ray Culpepper, to whom she was married on May 30, 1957; by two sons, Ray Culpepper and
