Jr. Panthers shine in dominant victories against Caddo Hills
MAGNET COVE — To post dominance on their home court at Magnet Cove High School Gymnasium, the Magnet Cove Jr. Panthers prevailed in huge victories against Caddo Hills for junior high boys basketball competition. The Jr. Panthers led the entire 24 minutes of action and finished first half play with a 17-point advantage over Caddo Hills, 22-5. In the second half, the Jr. Panthers poured 25 points on the scoreboard while defensively allowing the visiting Jr. Indians to only six points scored for third and fourth quarter scoring combined. Overall, Caddo Hills was held under double-digit scoring for all four quarters of action.
As a result, the Jr. Panthers secured a 36-point victory against Caddo Hills. For the game, Jr. Panthers’ Bo Batchelor led all scorers with 12 points and Luke Harper followed with 10 points for a duo of double-figure performances. Caden Green added a sharp nine points while Bronson Coolis and Keion Willis each chipped in five points apiece. Payton Plyler finished the night with four points and Connor Jackson contributed two points. Batchelor, Coolis, Green and Willis all knocked downed a trey (3-pointer) from beyond the arc for productive long distance shooting.
7TH GRADE BOYS HOOPS
In seventh grade hoops, the Jr. Panthers topped Caddo Hills, 28-24. For the game, Hunter Woods led scoring with 11 points to post in double-figures. Ethan Ramsey dropped six points through the basket while Damien Stevens had five points, Hunter Harrison, Chad Barrentine and Kyle Harrison each finished with two points apiece. During a match-up on the road against Horatio, the Jr. Panthers came up short with a 26-24 loss to the Jr. Lions. For the game, Harrison led the scoring department with 11 points as the lone Jr. Panther to score in double-figures. Stevens finished with seven points and drained a triple (3-pointer) from beyond the arc. Ramsey added four points and Barrentine had two points.
