Master Gardeners are investing in HSC’s future
Applications are being accepted for 2021 Hot Spring County Master Gardener Scholarships.
The scholarships are available to county residents and students who intend to study horticulture, plant science, or a related field such as agri-business or botany. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2021-2022 term.
Applications are available at high school guidance offices, at the county extension office, and at https:// bit.ly/2OcmBfB. All applications must be postmarked or delivered to the extension office by March 19th.
Community Beautification Grants Initiated.
HSC Master Gardeners are making grants of up to $500 for groups seeking to fund beautification projects in county public areas. While all funds need not be spent on plant materials, projects must feature a horticultural focus.
Grant Applications will be available at the county extension office and at https:// bit.ly/39NGySi throughout February.
Hot Spring County Master Gardener Plant Sale
The sale is scheduled for April 3. While COVID 19 presents unique challenges as it did in 2020, Hot Spring County Master Gardeners intend to make a variety of low-cost plants available to our community beginning during the first week of April 2021. Be alert for notices detailing format and location as the situation evolves.
Considering becoming a Master Gardener in 2021? Now is the time! Applications are available at the Cooperative Extension Office located at 1415 Smith Street. They must be submitted by Friday.
The Master Gardener Program is open to all eligible persons without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disability, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protective status.
