David A. Smith

On August 27, 1953, in Malvern, Arkansas, the late Eugene Smith and Qunnie Amos - Smith welcomed into the world a wonderful son, David A. Smith. He passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

David was preceded in death by his aforementi­oned parents; brothers: Lawrence E. Smith and Freddy Smith, Sr.; a daughter, Teela Hudson and nephew, Tyrone Smith.

He will be loved and missed by his daughter, LaKeysha (Morey) Fleming, his son, Tramell “T.J.” Smith; grandchild­ren: Maximus “Max” Smith,

Keyla Fleming, Asia Fleming, Jalessa Pritchett, Kayleigh Ragland; great-grandson, Asher; brothers: Larry (JoAnn) Smith, Don Smith; sister, Sherylene Smith; a special niece, Celina Rhodes; dear friend, Kathleen “Mama Kat” Hawkins and a host of other relatives and friends.

David’s Celebratio­n of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm., on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Malvern. There will be a walk-through visitation from 4:00–6:00pm, on Monday, February 22nd, at Brandon’s Mortuary, in Malvern.

Herbert Arthur James

Herbert Arthur James age 78, of Malvern passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his home. He was born December 2, 1942, in Arkadelphi­a, the son of Arthur S. and Fay Scurlock James. He was a US Army and Air Force veteran, member of the Diamond State Riders Club, DAV Commander’s Club and attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in

Malvern. He was owner and operator of Art’s Appliance/ Heating and Air. Herbert loved to hunt, fish, and grill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lamar James.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Dianne James, Son, Christophe­r Edward James both of Malvern, daughter Trenda James of Arizona and numerous grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren, Sisters, Janet Tugwell and Carolyn Cooper both of Malvern, grandchild­ren, Brianna Christine James, Christophe­r Ty James (Morgan) Grace Marie James, great-grandchild­ren, Bentley Leeland James, Weston Lee James, Easton Grey James, Oakley Rain Johnson, Nieces Faye Glover and Becky Jones.

Visitation will be Monday February 22 from 5-7PM at Regency.

Graveside services will be Tuesday February 23, at 2PM at Neighbors Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearer­s are Ty James, Chris James, Eric Beard, Kenneth Cox.
