Clean up event set for Saturday
This Saturday, the Malvern Downtown Development Corporation with the Hot Spring County Conversations—Malvern Beautification Action Team and the City of Rockport will be hosting its annual Malvern Quarterly Clean-Up from at 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The event is sponsored by Keep Arkansas Beautiful.
The clean up project involves several areas in downtown Malvern and Rockport— amongst other target places and sites in the county.
Supplies such as vests, gloves and trash bags are provided and will be distributed out to volunteers at 8 a.m. at 302 S. Main Street in Malvern and 1472 Military Rd. in Rockport. Free T-shirts also will be distributed to each volunteer.
Trash will be picked up at 10 a.m. from the same two locations.
During the quarterly cleanup in November 2020, Malvern Downtown Development Board President Dara Casey mentioned, more than 60 trash bags were taken up from the cleanup event. The bags of trash were transported to solid waste. Casey added the event was a city and countywide effort, and she was very thankful to all of the volunteers and especially local business representatives who contributed their time which made the event a huge success.
The public is requested to participate during the event while social distancing and cleaning up around Malvern and Hot Spring County.
If inclement weather occurs Saturday Casey mentioned the event will be postponed and rescheduled to next weekend. She said people can check out the Main Street Malvern Facebook page for updates or last minute information pertaining to details about the quarterly cleanup. Casey emphasized she will not know a specific decision to reschedule until the night before or the morning on the day of the event.
