Easter events scheduled for Friday, Saturday

For those looking for Easter-themed fun, several events are available.

•The Martin Luther King Associatio­n will be hosting a drive-through Easter egg hunt for children 1-12 years old from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 2 at First Baptist Rockport Church located at 530 E. Moline St. in Malvern.

•The Malvern High School JAG Program will also be hosting an Easter egg hunt.

The communityw­ide event will take place at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Centennial Park.

According to Mekenzie Trammel, JAG Specialist, more than 2,000 eggs will be hidden.

Individual­s interestin­g in helping the Malvern students can donate candy to ensure a successful Easter egg hunt.

Donations can be dropped off at Malvern High School by Thursday no later than 5 p.m. Individual­s can drop off items at the front office or students can drop off items at Room 10.

•The Crossing at Malvern will hosting the Annual Community Egg Hunt Friday at 3 p.m.

The event will take place at The Crossing at Malvern located at 720 N. Walco Rd. in Malvern and is open to children from 12 months old to 10 years old.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their Easter baskets and enjoy prizes and snacks. Individual­s can also take a picture with the Easter bunny.

•New Beginnings Baptist Church will be hosting Easter Eggfest at 2 p.m. Saturday at Malvern City Park. The event is free to attend and will include music, food and games. The church said they are preparing 10,000 eggs for the event.

Masks are required for the event, according to the flyer.
