Patton, White, Vaden tracksters shine in Spa City for Malvern in track competitio­n

HOT SPRINGS — A trio of top-notch performanc­es representi­ng Malvern showcased first place finishes against several tracksters in the Natural State Thursday in Spa City at the Joe Reese Memorial Relays in Hot Springs.

The hometown Malvern Lady Leopards tracksters’ Leia Patton, Riley White and Madison Vaden all placed first in several events to propel the Lady Leopards for a third place finish racking up 66 points during the girls meet competitio­n. Patton won the 100 meter dash and long jump events.

White won the high jump and Vaden won the shot put and discus throw.

The Leopards also had tracksters to place in both running and field events during the boys meet competitio­n.

Overall, Malvern tracksters competed against Lisa Academy North, host school Hot Springs and Glen Rose.

The following are results of Malvern’s boys and girls track and field performanc­es at the Joe Reese Memorial Relays in Hot Springs.

LADY LEOPARDS MEET RESULTS

In the Girls 100 Meter Dash— Leia Patton placed first with a winning time of 13.37; Ayanna Johnson placed second with a time of 14.39

In the Girls High Jump— Riley White placed first with a winning jump of 4-08.00; Desirae Phillips placed second with a throw of 4—0.6.00

In the Girls Long Jump— Patton placed first with a winning jump of 1402.50

In the Girls Shot Put—Madison Vaden placed first with a winning throw of 25-10.00

In the Girls Discus Throw—Madison Vaden placed first with a winning throw of 63-04

LEOPARDS MEET RESULTS

In the Boys 100 Meter Dash—Kaleb Bright placed fifth with a time of 12.86; Braylon Watson placed sixth with a time of 13.00

In the Boys 1600 Meter Run—Brenan West placed second with a time of 6:25.12

In the Boys Long Jump— Watson placed seventh with a jump of 16-04; Bright placed eighth with a jump of 16-00

In the Boys Shot Put— Jashaun Caradine placed fifth with a throw of 31-10.00; Leonard Leach placed sixth with a throw of 30-08.00
