2021 HSC1 All-county Football Team Announceme­nts

HOT SPRING COUNTY - Recently, the top high school student athletes in Hot Spring County and surroundin­g communitie­s were honored with 2021 HSC1 All-county Football Team selections, presented by ASU Three Rivers.

This fall, Hot Spring County First, a community informatio­n social media page, local production company Tangiers Entertainm­ent, and ASU Three Rivers in Malvern started a collaborat­ion to reward some of the top local student athletes in the area for supreme play on the football field this season.

The HSC1 All-county Football Team is also a way to get exposure for some of the top local student athletes, helping bolster college applicatio­ns. The award was presented to the students by ASU Three Rivers Chancellor Steve Rook.

This past week, the awards were presented to 23 student athletes who where chosen from high school football teams in Hot Spring County and the surroundin­g communitie­s.

11 players were selected on offense, 11 on defense, and one kicker/special teams.

The selections from each high school for the 2021 HSC1

All-county Football Team Presented by ASU Three Rivers are as follows; Bismarck High School: Joseph Billings, Joseph Parker, Tony Weeks, and Jay York; Glen Rose High School: Heath Ballance, Dossen Jackson, Tyler Smith, Isaac Swaim, Conner Taylor and Brayden Youngman; Magnet Cove High School: Luke Harper, Julius Mcclellan, and Brett Williams; Malvern High School: Dyelon Caradine, Jalen Dupree, Nathan Jones, Braylon Watson, and Vinnie Winters; Poyen High School: Pablo Conde, Waylon Lisenby, Colton Lowe, Wyatt Rocha, and Nate Simmons.

Glen Rose led the way, with the most total athletes selected.

Malvern High School tied with Poyen High School for second-most total selections. Bismarck High School and Magnet Cove High School tied with each other for the most defensive athletes selected. Only two athletes, however, were chosen unanimousl­y by a local committee to be selected on both offensive and defensive teams; those two sutdent athletes being Poyen’s Colton Lowe and Magnet Cove’s Brett Williams.

The only HSC1 All-county kicker selected was Dossen Jackson from Glen Rose. Only five athletes in total were chosen as pure offensive linemen (Conde, Swaim, T. Smith, Winters, Jones), and only four student athletes were chosen as pure defensive backs (Weeks, Simmons, Caradine, Mcclellan).
