Janice Terry

-

Janice Terry was born in Damascus (Faulkner County), Arkansas on July 26, 1933 to Elzie and Delma Terry. The great depression shaped her early life with the scarcity of food and material items. She taught herself to sew at age 5 by making doll clothes for her little sister. Eventually, she was making clothing for everyone in her family.

She earned a beautician/ cosmetologist license and was employed by Charles’ House of Beauty in Little Rock. She was very sought after for her skills with hair and makeup.

When Janice married Vinus Caple, she became a stay-at-home mom. One of the main ways she showed her love to those she cared about was through her cooking. She was a master at cooking, quilting, sewing and giving support. She gave help where help was needed, and many times it went unnoticed by others. That is what she preferred.

Janice was a member of Magnet Cove United Methodist Church since 1972. One way she served for many years was to bake cakes for fellowship after service.

Dear Mom, you did not want us to grieve at your release from this earth, but we are. You were the driving force in our family who stood quietly in the background. We are strong because of you and Dad. We look forward to seeing you again, Mom. Rest in well-deserved heavenly peace.
