Stormy Times

Following the close of probation the entire world will be arrayed against the little company who, having received the seal of God in their foreheads, remain faithful to the law of God. Through all the stormy times of the great tribulation, when they are threatened on every side with destruction, their faith will not waver nor will they be offended by the abuse heaped upon them.

“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them” (Psalms 119:165). “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).

They will have discovered the awesome power contained in the name of the Lord.

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10).

As the last great conflict between good and evil is drawing to a close and the seven last plagues are falling upon the worshipers of the beast, Satan, in a last desperate effort, will inspire them to wipe the followers of God from the face of the earth.

When it appears to human eyes they are about to succeed, Christ appears leading His armies (angels) from heaven, to deliver them (Revelation 19:11-14).

Before He arrives Satan will have marshaled his forces to resist Him. “And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.

These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh” (verses 19-21). It may be that before coming into focus with the naked eye, with the extremely powerful “James Webb telescope,” about to be launched, His coming may be detected while still a long way out in space, thus allowing time for the forces of evil to prepare their resistance (verse 19) (speculation only).

Next week, a more in-depth look at Revelation 19:19-21.
