Lady Leopards out to showcase their ‘Game Time’ talents representi­ng the hometown hoop fans for 2021-2022

The hometown Malvern Lady Leopards are refocusing to bring back the excitement to the senior high girls basketball program for 2021-2022 season.

Head coach Cleveland Gordon opened the Leopard Center during the summer for the Lady Leopards to take advantage and aim to post some key victories the season.

Despite a tough season last year, Gordon knows there is some potential in the talent of his Lady Leopards. Gordon has experience­d the championsh­ip glory as an assistant coach during the historic Lady Leopard state title reigns—and focuses on building the hometown senior high hoopsters to that status.

This season, the Lady Leopards will present several familiar faces that have a tough and hard working attitude to represent the hometown the productive way on the hardwood.

The senior duo of Leona Hogan and Lynasia Moore have the leadership role for this season. As returning players, they’re taking strides to contribute in a productive role that can help bring some success back to the girls program.

GAME TIME— LADY LEOPARDS

The Lady Leopards opened the 20212022 basketball season against some tough competitio­n. Despite falling to Sheridan and Lakeside in the Lakeside Classic, the Lady Leopards showed some productive play in the season-home opener against Camden-fairview.

The Lady Leopards’ underclass­men have geared up this season with a little impressive production. Dy’sire Jones paced the Lady Leopards with a double-digit scoring performanc­e and dropped 13 points in a productive home debut for the Leopard Center hoop fans against Camden-fairview.

The fast style ball handling guard of talented sophomore Chasney Cooper hit seven points against Camden-fairview. Cooper led the Lady Leopards with a double-digit performanc­e against Lakeside with 11 points and Jones sparked for nine points.

Also Lady Leopards’ Cayla Spencer, Nadia Mitchell and Ayanna Johnson with Alexis Hawkins will be key factors to the team from their production, along, Kennedy Bailey and Gillian Heinley to contribute.
