Warriors, Lady Warriors advance to championsh­ip games Warriors’ Rhett Lee shines for season-high 30 points, Lady Warriors knock down team-high eight triples

DONALDSON — The Warrior Country hoop fans witnessed their Ouachita Warriors and Lady Warriors display impressive victories on the Ouachita High School Allcare Pharmacy Court at Ouachita High School Gymnasium Tuesday during the opening day of the 2021 Herb Russell Holiday Hoops Tournament. The Warriors and the Lady Warriors both have advanced to the championsh­ip games as the host tournament teams.

The Lady Warriors laid the smackdown on the Smackover Lady Buckaroos 57-32 while the Warriors surged past the Rison Wildcats 53-49.

The Lady Warriors caught on fire from beyond the arc to nail eight triples (3-pointers) to propel them for their 25-point win—advancing to the finals. Lady Warriors’ Emma Williams led the way with 18 points and swished three triples from downtown—delaney Daniell dropped 11 points and drilled three triples beyond the arc for a Lady Warrior duo of double-figures. Olivia Waters contribute­d seven points, with Raylee Slate and Emma Kyzer both scoring six points apiece.

Chloe Ashcraft chipped in five points, Grace Baker and Jenna Schweitzer both finished with two points apiece. Kyzer and

Ashcraft both knocked down a triple from beyond the arc to display a productive shooting night for the Lady Warriors.

The Warriors’ Rhett Lee showcased an outstandin­g productive night as the overall top performer to record a season-high 30 points to secure Ouachita’s four-point victory against Rison. Rhett Lee was the lone Warrior to post in double-figures with a surprise star-studded night that helped advance the Warriors to the championsh­ip game. Kelton Fowler and Caden Lee contribute­d eight points apiece with Kaidan Bahr, Jared Westbrook and Colton Braswell each adding two points apiece.

Bralyn Maynard chipped in one point from the charity stripe. Rhett Lee drained two triples from beyond the arc with Fowler blazing the net with one triple from downtown.
