Sheriff Mike Cash runs for re-election

- Paid Political Announcement by Sheriff Mike Cash

Sheriff Mike cash announces that he is seeking re-election as Hot Spring County Sheriff in the Republican Primary.

Sheriff Cash has 38 years of law enforcement experience and is a lifelong resident of Hot Spring County.

Under Sheriff Cash’s leadership, the Sheriff’s Office complies with NIBRS which is required to receive grants. The office has received several grants including a $2500 equipment grant in the last two years and a $90,000 grant to equip each patrol vehicle with computer equipment. This will reduce the time spent on reports and improve response time. A 20-year-old computer system at the office has been updated. We have a new camera system at the Hot Spring Detention Center and now use a program called “ZOOM” to cut down on transports. This cuts costs and increases public safety. All deputies are trained and equipped with NARCAN kits. This was fully paid for with a grant. We have also applied for a Body Camera grant. We have re-started “Project Lifesaver” in the Sheriff’s Office.

Along with the schools, we have started a School Resource Officer program in county schools to improve the safety and security of our children and grandchildren.

We have worked within the budged every year and improved our fleet of vehicles replacing unsafe vehicles with “salvage titles.” We have filed charges against over 80 sex offenders and publish a list of registered sex offenders four times per year in the newspaper and on our Facebook page.

Sheriff Cash and his wife Susie are the parents of four adult children and will soon have nine grandchildren. He serves on the board of directors of the Arkansas Sheriff’s Youth Ranch and is a member of the Bismarck Lions Club.

It has been an honor serving as your sheriff and I would like to continue to serve in that capacity.
