GLEN ROSE — The Beavers’ Cohen Carter showcased an overall dandy performance for the Beaver Dam hoop fans Thursday that helped Glen Rose prevail in winning fashion against the Prescott Curley Wolves 50-29 in their first of two-game conference match-up at the Glen Rose Sports Arena.

Behind Carter’s 25 point scoring night and game-high, he drilled five triples beyond the arc to ignite Glen Rose’s 21-point win against the athletic Curley Wolves. Despite Prescott taking the early 2-0 lead in the first quarter, Carter answered with a scoring spree that led to the Beavers leading Prescott 8-2 down to the 6:07 mark in the first quarter. Prescott would coast by the Beavers and end the first quarter leading Glen Rose 14-8.

But, the Beavers kicked it into their way of execution and rolled big in the second quarter to outscore Prescott 20-8. At the break, Glen Rose led Prescott 28-22.

In the second half, the Beaver Dam hoop fans came alive and the Beavers fed off their energy and finished the third quarter with a 12-point advantage over Prescott, 37-25.

In the fourth quarter, the Beavers just put the game away and surged to a 13-4 scoring period over Prescott. While the bench emptied for Glen Rose, Austin Swayze brought the sports arena to their feet while drilling a huge triple beyond the arc to score the Beaver’s final points of the contest.

For the game, Beavers’ Kaleb Meredith also had a productive performance and posted in double-digits with 11 points and swished a triple. Big man Brayden Youngman and Tagg Haynes added four points apiece and Ty Hood with Swayze both drained a triple from downtown for three points apiece.
