Brenda Weldon announces candidacy for re-election
Mayor Brenda Weldon is announcing her candidacy for re- election as Mayor of Malvern.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity you, the citizens, have given me to serve the last two terms as Mayor. These past years have been so exciting for Malvern and the future holds great opportunities for us, its citizens. I am asking for your vote again, so that I can continue applying my hard- work ethic and management experience, along with cultivating a teamwork attitude approach among city agencies to provide the best, most efficient and economical services possible. Together, we have accomplished a lot, and we can accomplish so much more in the future. With help from the employees of the City of Malvern we will continue to make great strides to improve Malvern for our citizens and our visitors.
During my last term these are only a few of the accomplishments that have been made in working towards my vision for our community:
Increased the budget for cleaning up vacant lots and removed unsafe buildings in the last 4 years; Secured grants to complete a walking path at the City Park and grants to improve the Malvern airport by building a taxi way and this year will start extending the runway; In the process of building a new Fire Station and remodeling the old Fred’s building to become the new Malvern Police Department; Continued repairs and maintenance to the Water and Sewer Treatment Plants; and Repaired and striped several miles of city streets. I work daily to improve public safety, and work with Local and State Economic Developers to aid in attracting growth to our area.
Malvern is my home and has been for all my life, and I am very fortunate that my immediate family resides here. I truly want to continue to make things better not only for my family, but your family, too. My door is always open, and I always look forward to hearing from you. If re- elected I plan to continue working on the infrastructure of the city, economic growth and working relationships. I am asking for your vote to continue being your Mayor.
