Clarence M. “Sonny” Freer 74, of Malvern went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday May 8, 2022. He will always be remembered as the very best father and family man. Born October 16, 1947, he was the son of the late J.C. Freer, Jr. and Elizabeth Garner Freer. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Company, owned Freer Service Center, and was a salesman for Stihl Southwest. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, carpentry, woodworkin­g, mechanics, and attending his grandchild­ren’s sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Weeks Freer; a son, James Craig Freer; brother-in-law, Glen Brandon. He is survived by one son, Mark (Stephenie) Freer of Malvern; two daughters, Lisa (Lee) Kuykendall of Malvern, Charlotte (Michael) Thomas of Jasper; three sisters, Shelby Brandon of Sherwood, Susan Freer of Little Rock, Kathy (Jerry) Hardman of Ivan; ten grandchild­ren, Sunni (Jacob) Costello, Tyler (Sarah) Strother, Bryce Freer, Parker Freer, Harlan (Amanda) Jones, Abigale Jones, Neelah Agus, Maggie Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Kiauna (Jared) Curtis; eight great grandchild­ren, Hayes Costello, Caroline Costello, Adelaide Costello, Raylan Curtis and Adeline Jones, Haiden Jones, Hadleigh Jones, Cameron Strother.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Garner Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Hardman officiatin­g. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Garner Cemetery Associatio­n, C/O Janice Gray, 2838 N. Hwy 167, Fordyce, AR 71742.
